    re: James Cameron's "Avatar"

I already received my retail copy, but I'm sad to find out the 3D version is getting pushed back to Summer 2011 for home release.

And that they are re-releasing the film in theaters this summer 3D with extended scenes.

Barebones version is fine with me... I don't even remember the last time I watched the special features of a movie.

Next week's Target weekly special will have it for $19.99 I'd be willing to bet that Amazon will price match this as well (so no taxes and free shipping if you have prime...or order $25 worth of stuff)

I'll get a copy of this version from netflix, but I'm not buying until a version loaded with extras is released.

Me too. Even with international shipping that is still way cheaper then i would pay here in Australia for it.

I agree...Man, I thought I was the only one..If it wasn't for 3-D the movie would be ok. Nothing too great IMO. The story was predictable. I will not dish out more loot to see the movie again. Id rather spend the $20 or whatever it is for the BD at the club to see some real sh!t in 3D

Enjoy it man. I'll be getting somebody's copy on the cheap when the double-dip that has special features gets released later this year.

Mine was dispatched from Amazon 2 days ago. It's gonna take 5-15 days to arrive but i'm in no great rush. Really looking forward to seeing it again though. I know there are people who don't like it but i thought it was an EPIC bit of escapism.

                                Avatar 2 details revealed:

The latest news and headlines from Yahoo! News. Get breaking news stories and in-depth coverage with videos and photos.

James Cameron has a special affinity for the ocean. He's directed films such as "Titanic" and "The Abyss," not to mention his own deep-sea diving documentaries. So it shouldn't come as a huge surprise that his "Avatar" sequel will focus on underwater life in the oceans of the fictional moon of Pandora.

"Part of my focus in the second film is in creating a different environment -- a different setting within Pandora," Cameron told the LA Times, "and I'm going to be focusing on the ocean on Pandora, which will be equally rich and diverse and crazy and imaginative, but it just won't be a rain forest. I'm not saying we won't see what we've already seen; we'll see more of that as well."
