Re: Help! Computer won't start up

I think what may have happened is a Windows update could've messed with it. Which is stupid because they're supposed to help secure your computer but whatever. That or there's a lot of dust in my tower. I've wanted to get it out but I don't want to mess with it. I'll have to get my brother or neighbor to check it out. I don't think it's shot after just 2 years. I like to think I keep my stuff in decent shape.

My faincee has a desktop she bought in '02 but no longer uses. Could I take the graphics card out of that one as well as the power supply and put it in my old computer to see if it starts up then?

Or can I put my hard drive into her old computer?

Didn't know if either of those options would work.
      both of those should work

Well, I got my brother to look at it (after I reinstalled Windows XP). Apparently, I need to install all the drivers and **** that came with the motherboard, etc. Good thing I kept all that stuff. Knew it would come in handy one day...

Me? Well, the other thread was regarding my internet connection. It ended up being that I just had to update my router. Internet works like a charm!

I think he was talking about Dookie...Sometimes Dookie's threads make me wonder if he was just meant to stay away from technology completely

Hey now... that's one thing I can truthfully say I don't do, is look at porn.

I'm sure the computer being 8 years old doesn't help.
