I cannot get this thing up & running. Everytime during setup it craps out on me and loses the connection.

Are you wired or wireless? If wireless, are you using a wireless G router?

I'm wireless but not sure if it's a wireless G router. Is that a neccessity?

My laptop can find the HAVA but loses its connection once I get past the 1st step.

Dude, call customer service. They're really good at helping resolve setup issues.

I know, lol. I've been really busy this week so I will most likely hit them up tonight.

I read somewhere that it works best if wireless G. You have to go through some steps if it's anything other than that.

It took just a few minutes once I called the CSR tech support

They can even do it for you remotely if you need them too

They just came out with a new software and firmware upgrade. Not sure what all the benefits are yet.

Re: Hava Platinum & Titanium Devices

After I bought this and couldn't initially set it up I boxed it and figured I would give it another try after I moved.

Well, last night I finally tried to set it up again and once again had issues. Now, the issues are with my laptop and not the device as I got it to work great on my wife's laptop.

Basically, there is some firewall/virus blocking issue on my laptop that is preventing me from connecting it to my home network.

Anyone have any experience with troubleshooting these issues?

HAVA's customer service is GREAT btw. Their techs know their product extremely well.

What functions are you using it for by the way

I spent about an hour & a half last night talking with them and troubleshooting. It's definately some kind of issue with my laptop though as my wife's worked fine.

I'm trying to record XBOX 360 gameplay.

It was so frustrating. We were so close so many times yet each time we couldn't get it to work.
