Archie and Edith singing in the opening of "All In The Family" will always be the #1 theme song/show opening for me.

My other favorites are "The Simpsons" (that glissando to start the show can get my attention anywhere), "The Wire" (Season 4 and Season 1 are my favorites of that bunch), and "Mad Men" -- I really like the "Mad Men" theme, and I think the other songs mostly just get me in the mood to watch.

Danny Elfman's theme for "The Simpsons" has to be one of the most iconic pieces of music written in the 20th century, given how long that show has been on the air and the exposure it has had. You can hum that tune in Japan and people know what it is.
