My deal came with 1 reusable k-cup filter. Just ordered another-1 from amazon. Since I purchase my own coffee, the k-cup filters are worth-it

      Re: Single Cup Coffee Makers

I think this is going to be what I get my girlfriend for Christmas. She's a teacher and always on the run and giving her the ability to have an easily accessible cup of coffee will really make her day.

It sounds like this machine is easy to use and the only question I have for you all with it: How is the durability?

I'm reading the reviews right now and it's either a 5-star review or a 1-star review. Durability seems to be a risk with what I'm reading?

I'm looking between the Platinum and the Special Edition.

Any advice? What accessories are necessary?

6 months later & my Keurig is still going strong & I use it a lot. If she won't be using it a lot, (more than once a day) then I say get her the Special Edition with the re-usable k-cups unless she plans on using the k-cup coffee's.

          Re: Single Cup Coffee Makers

Had mine since last Christmas, and it works great. I'd recommend getting her the My K-Cup accessory as well, incase you run out of K-Cups and have a bag of ground coffee on hand. It occasionally makes a tiny mess, as water sometimes squirts out the sides, but nothing too bad. It's useful, as buying a box of K-Cups, while cheap in the long run, can be expensive in bulk, so it's nice being able to throw enough grounds into your own K-Cup.

I personally will never go back to another coffee maker. Only complaint i've heard from people is that it doesn't make enough coffee for them. If she drinks a ton of coffee, then she'll burn through the K-Cups quick, but if one cup at a time is enough for her, then definitely get it.

I appreciate the feedback! She would be a 1-2 k-cup a day person. She is definitely a k-cup person as she does not do well in the kitchen! I need to make it as easy as possible!

My Keurig is going on 4 years now! Works as good as the day we got it.

Highly recommend this as a gift for your girl. I started this thread a year and a half ago, just days before I purchased my Keurig. My girlfriend, her daughter and I average about 5-6 cups a day, and the thing is humming along beautifully.

I bought the 48 ounce reservoir, 5.25 oz, 7.25 oz, & 9.25 oz brew size options. Neither of us use the 9.25 oz size. GET ONE!!!

                  Re: Single Cup Coffee Makers

I ordered the Platinum B70 yesterday. Thanks for all the feedback.

Just curious: I see all the sizes and to me they seem small, right? I mean isn't a 16oz coffee the norm when you go to Starbucks or DD?

The Platinum goes up to 10 oz I believe.

Any recommendations on what types of K-cups to get her? She drinks caffeinated black with cream and no sugar.

Also, for me, what are some good teas? I'm not a coffee drinker but enjoy some good tea. I drink unsweetened.

                  Thanks!

I do my ordering online at coffee giant or coffee cow. They both have tons of coffee and tea flavors. Also when you order online I noticed you get more K-cups per box then what is offered at the store.

All depends how strong you want the coffee. I only select the 5 1/4 oz and 7 1/4 oz sizes.

Newman's Own, Donut Shop, Tully's Kona Blend, but they have a lot of great flavors. Just got some Folgers Black Silk today. Going to try it tonight.

I'm not a fan of the flavored coffees, like butter toffee and french toast, but to each their own.

Your model should have the 12, 10, 8, 6 and 4 oz brew sizes.

Thanks I think I'm just going to get a wide variety so she can see what she likes. It'll be mainly focused on original type of coffees, with some flavored coffees.

They have variety boxes available at most places. Last Christmas I got one I think from Coffeepeople.com with a ton of different flavors.

Do you guys get the water filters? Is it a big difference?

The only thing with the variety packs is there's a lot of stuff in them I don't like. (flavored coffees, decaffeinated, teas).
