The Definitive List Of DVDs No Dude Can Have In Their Collection

My wife owns Titanic and My Best Friend's Wedding (worst movie ever) and I have the Star Wars prequels, but that's about it (besides our wedding video which is on VHS).

    A few comments:
I think A League of Their Own is a pretty good baseball movie.
"Anything starring Patrick Swayze where he doesn’t violently kill someone" - by that logic Ghost would be ok and that movie sucks. It's definitely no Red Dawn or Roadhouse.

Anything with subtitles not named Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

        Pans Labyrinth
        laughs at that.

I can safely say any of the movies that we have from that list I did not purchase for myself and were purchased with the hope of marital favors.

          What a dumb list.

By the way, I don't own any movies that fit those categories. Though, I disagree with some of their thoughts.

A League Of Their Own is a very good baseball movie. So what if it stars women. It's still baseball history and it has some of the best Tom Hanks lines ever.

I actually liked the Notebook. I'm not big on most chick flicks, but this is probably one of the few that I thought tried to hold on to some sort of realism, though still not perfect.

Patrick Swayze kills a man violently in Ghost. I think that negates the Whoopi Goldberg category. Also, Ghost was just a great movie. I don't care what anyone says.

Is Meet Joe Black a chick flick? If so, then that's the second one I liked.

I wouldn't own a Wayans brother film, but I'm surprised by them being on this list.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

The only ones I own on that list are The Devil Wears Prada (which I like) and 27 Dresses (which I don't like, but came in a cheap three-pack with Prada and Juno). The third one is where "animals talk," which is Ratatouille. I mean technically I own all of them on Blu-ray, but eh there are some semantics.

I don't own any others on that list, and pretty much agree with the rest of the list.

Whoever through the subtitles line in there has obviously never seen Letters from Iwo Jima. That is a ****ing movie right there.

Exactly why I feel it's a dumb list.

What exactly is the point of writing these things? It just speaks to the many men that need to speak about manliness to justify their manliness. Here's the truth: No man needs to defend his manliness. By defending your manliness, you only sound like that guy that always talks about how big his penis is. Everyone knows how that goes.
