See the problem is most of the people that go/play SXSW are hipsters(indie music fans) and they are fruits. Did you see that one guy with his back turned the whole time? He would have been the first to get pushed down:wink:.

When you live here SXSW is great. I just parked my car in a neighborhood by a school and walked around downtown all evening and all night seeing free shows and drinking cheap booze. It was great. Bitches runnin' wild too.

I love these secret shows, I had a chance to go to a Weezer Secret Show in NYC and it was amazing, very intimate no more than about 400-500 people in a very small club.

Probably my favorite Metallica song of all time, but I just have no idea why they don't play the END of the solo and they just jump back into the last verse. It's like, the 5 minute mark to 5:10 in the studio version. They NEVER play it live, and I have no idea why.

Probably because there is no way Kirk could redo what he did on the studio recording.

If I remember, Kirk went insane at that point on the recording.

of course you can get all of those things where you are, but the variety of music at SXSW is pretty incredible. It's quite a unique scene.
Do you go to Larry Joe Taylor Music Festival?

It doesn't seem THAT complex compared to some of the other stuff before that in the solo though.

Oh well, that 10 second bit is probably my favorite part of Metallica ever and I never knew why they never played it live. I guess that's it.

It's awesome! 4 nights of camping out and hanging out with 30,000 other people. You need to make it try and go this year or next year, not much else like it music wise.

I agree it's an awesome song. It's difficult to pick favorites, because they have so many good songs, but I would say "Blackened" is one of my favorites also... along with "For Whom The Bell Tolls", "Fade To Black", "Nothing Else Matters", and "Orion(live)"

I dont know why they took that part out of "Blackened" when they play live, but imo the entire "Justice for All" record sounds better live. There are some awesome songs on that record. The studio versions sound good, but the studio production of the songs didnt seem as good as the previous three records for some reason. The songs from that record really shine through even better when they play them live imo

Metallica is one of the best live bands ever and all of their songs sound great live, but especially the ones from "and Justice For All"...although I agree they should add that incredible part that Kirk did in the studio (even though that might make it difficult for Kirk to party as much on tour and play that particular song "intoxicated" lol)

that sounds like quite a party!

I heard Cross Canadian Ragweed is playing there this year. They are one of my favorite bands of all time.
