Lock her up and throw away the key.
    Exactly...

She brought everyone back, probably made dinner, got them all ready for bed... never once did it cross her mind "Hey, where's my baby?"

    Give me a break.

Your boy is an object now, eh?

Just playin'. you were probably referring to the hypothetical situation at hand when you said "it."

I see women all the time at the grocery store gabbin on their phone while their kid is running around the parking lot. I had to grab one once because he was about to run in front of a truck.

Mom of course just yelled at her 5 yr old then went back to her conversation. Accidents happen, no doubt. There's also a lot of lazy, selfish parents.
Not exactly the same thing, but a couple of months ago I was walking out of Ralph's with this family in front of me (well, dad plus little boy and girl). It was windy and this four some year old boy was holding onto a balloon, skipping along. He wanted to show off the balloon to his dad while he was talking on the phone, but his dad asked him to wait for a second. The balloon flew out of his hands and went horizontally (again, windy day). The kid goes running after it, arms extended, yelling, "MY BALLOON!" Then he plunks head into the back of a parked Escalade and falls on his ***!

Normally this wouldn't be too funny, but just as I was about to go instinctively help him, he sort of sat there for a couple of seconds then said, "Ow," and got up. The worst part was that his dad and sister never noticed, until he was chiming that he lost his balloon. I then proceeded to the row where my car was in.

But a minute later, looking back at the image of the kid running for his balloon and totally not seeing the parked car and going PLUNK was just hilarious! I know that sounds bad, but since he didn't seem badly hurt at all sort of makes it okay.

But yeah, the point is that the dad never noticed nor cared to notice. He was too busy talking on the phone as they kept going along. I didn't want to say anything to him because I don't suppose it was much of my business, but I wanted to aid the kid if he was hurt.

Anyway, most 7 months olds are on a feeding and sleep schedule. Even if you did forget the kid in the car, you'd certainly have to know that 6pm bottle, 7pm diaper check, 7:30 bath and 8pm night time were critical times. Believe me, you know when your kids aren't around instinct kicks in.

Unless the baby did get SIDS overnight.

Whatever excuse this lady comes up with is bunk. Its one thing to turn your back in the park for a split second and a tragedy happens when the kid runs out in the road as you were trying to round up the other children. Tragic, but unfortunately it happens. This can't be explained.
That is crazy if you ask me cause didn't this lady notice before bedtime that she wasn't putting the kid to bed. I bet the baby was dead already and she had no clue what to do.

After reading the story about the lady who almost lost custody of her kid because she got out of her car to give the slavation army some change at Christmas, I've always had that in the front of my mind. Its ridiculous, but that would be my luck.
That story happened at the Walmart by me, it was Crestwood, IL.

People just seem to be so absent-minded and irresponsible these days. It's like everyone is walking around in a daze or something.

Lack of accountability and selfishness is running rampant.
