I can see Adrian Brody...but Morpheus is awesome.

Somebody needs to talk with AB about some of his role choices. He too good of an actor to mess with some of these roles. Though maybe this will help people to forget about King Kong.

Never thought much of Fishburne as an actor so that footage didn't impress either.

Don't think I agree with creating Predator dogs or changing the looks too much either.

I will have to 100% agree. In fact, my lady and I saw it the other day on AMC - having not seen in myself in 10+ years and her having never seen it before - and I never realized how good of a movie it actually was. Had all sorts of plot twists, memorable characters, and it went the old-school route of story telling where the viewer is more so scared/disturbed by the 'presence' than actually seeing the creature.

The movies did jump the shark for me on the 2nd one. Having remember all the hell a physical specimen like Ah'nold went through to defeat one was such a stark difference than a 40+ year old Danny Glover going mano-a-mano with one. It really cheapened the entire franchise, IMO.

Absolutely. It's not one of those movies where, when you watch it now, it seems lame. The movie is STILL as awesome as it ever was. No way the remake is as good.

Plus, the original has Arnold... game over.

EDIT:

I will say this. I just watched that preview, and it actually looked pretty decent. I'll give Rodriguez credit too, at least he openly admits you can't compete with Arnold, as as such is going a different route.

Agreed. One of my favorite movies of all time. Just love everything about it the cast, the plot, the setting, some of the dialogue lol.

They really went overboard with this story. Why did they have to make it all crazy on an alien world? Just put the soldiers in the Jungle and wham, you have a great movie.

The talk for years was if there was going to be a part 3, it was going to take place on the Predators planet. I guess they decided to do that instead.

Because it's not a "remake" - it's a "reboot"/"retelling" of sorts.

Rodriguez even said in the interview that he wasn't going to remake the original because you couldn't compare to the Arnold version. He is going at it a "different way."
