Cautiously optimistic about this...still not sold on Adrien Brody though. That role was tailor made for The Rock IMO.

I'm glad they cut the rumored Arnie cameo that was gonna be in the movie. It was whack, almost laughable.

Bump. Anyone going to see this movie this Friday?

I for one am a big predator fan and have always enjoyed the movies. For one they never sugar coat it and get caught up in the "boyfriend/girlfriend both make it out alive theme". All I can say is I am definitely looking forward to this one and It'll be very interesting to see if anyone really makes it out because, they are on a different planet this time around.

I'm going. I'm an enormous Predator fan, and since Rodriguez said he's going back to #1 style roots, it's all I can hope for.

I like how the trailer makes everyone seem very human and mortal (despite being military etc. specialists) that is very important.

And thank god we're getting back to the goods and not AVP crud.

The AVPs weren't bad. They did what they were supposed to do, satisfy the sci fi geek in all of us. "What if cameron's aliens were on modern day earth?" The AVP's obviously don't stand up to the original alien and predator movies but they were entertaining. The only movie I hated in the alien/predator family was Alien 4.

I might go depending on what people say on here seeing as I'm not the biggest movie-goer. I will say this though, the first Predator movie stands up very well over time. I saw it a month or two back and couldn't believe that it was actually a pretty good movie: plot, acting (muscle heads and all), effects, and mood (not seeing the villain until the end).

Saw it at midnight. I thought it was pretty good, I've never seen any of the others though.

Fishburne's character turns out to be deranged and tells his imaginary friend he isn't able to supply food for all of them, and he's started a fire to try and kill them. Brody's character fires a shot that breaches the ship and alerts a nearby Predator, who comes in, kills Fishburne's character, and lures the rest of them out by smashing the door in. The doctor gets separated from the rest of them along the way and ends up alone and almost gets killed until the Russian saves him.

I was entertained. Brody's no Arnold, but overall a solid flick with a solid #2 spot in the franchise behind the original Predator.
