Re: Palm Pre
Glad to hear, bro. Soon enough, it's going to really start kicking *** once the developing picks up. If you feel adventurous enough, you can do some stuff that'll allow you to put homebrew applications onto your phone.Comment

Re: Palm Pre
So far my only complaint is the battery life and how I have to slide out the keyboard to open the flap covering the charging port, because I have no fingernails. I guess they designed it like this so that you'll be more inclined to buy the touchstone charger, which I may pick up.Comment

Re: Palm Pre
Battery life is rough for sure. I turned off auto locator to cut down on power usage.
I didn't know sliding out the kb made opening that cover door easier. I've been picking it with what little nails I have.

Re: Palm Pre
Yeah, turn off GPS and Auto-Locator, keep wireless on when you're in a wireless network area. That seems to be a big battery saver because any data is handled by the wireless, which uses less battery than the Sprint Network, apparently.
Also, turn down the brightness a bit, and set the emails to check as they arrive, because if it keeps checking every five min and you don't get THAT much email, it uses more battery.
Plus, there seems to be a break-in period. Battery is still a bit weird though, it's really funky sometimes, other days it works great.Comment

Re: Palm Pre
Eh....not fully down, no. I actually try to keep it topped off as much as possible. That may work, though.Comment

Re: Palm Pre
I'm pretty sure it supports everything, but I only have GMail so obviously, that's all I use. E-mail is actually pretty weak on this thing. No way to mark everything read, the app itself is kinda funky, I dunno....not the Pre's strongest suit. It's pretty barebones but I guess it gets the job done. Keep in mind that I'm not a huge email guy so it's no big thing for me.Comment

Re: Palm Pre
well i'm a blackberry guy. my girl is a current treo owner and she is trying to decide between the blackberry tour and the pre. I've always tried to convert her to blackberry but she has refused. now she's strongly considering one or the other. i've done the research for her and am trying to be as objective as possible. i've told her to go ahead and get the Pre since she's familiar with Palm but she's saying the keyboard is killing the Pre for her. I don't want her to get the Tour and not like it. I'm going to just her play with my 8900 Curve this weekend and we'll go to the Sprint store and play with both phones.I'm pretty sure it supports everything, but I only have GMail so obviously, that's all I use. Re: Palm Pre
Yeah, the Treo Pro is real nice too. The HTC Hero is coming soon as well.
As for the Pre's keyboard, it's really not too shabby. A female shouldn't have a hard time with it. My main gripe is that pressing enter on a text immediately sends a text. I often accidentally press it before my text is done.Comment
