I'm really pissed at the supply disparity from Palm/Sprint.

I didn't get one.

I have two friends who are still on Sprint and they both bought one. One of them even opened up a new "family line" just to get the phone. (Stupid)

Sprint customers are hard up for a nice phone. That's pretty much how I was when I had Sprint. Like the service (despite the constant complaints) but hot damn they needed this phone badly.

Where did you go to try and get one? Seems like most Sprint stores had around 30+ phones while Best Buys had around 15.

I was amped for it, but I think I'm gonna hold out for the Touch Pro 2. Those keys are way too small for my fingers, so texting would probably be an exercise in frustration. Sometimes I even get frustrated texting on my Mogul.

THM, have you tried typing? I had reservations but played on a demo unit and it was fine for me, and I have pretty big hands.

Pared, we ended up going to Best Buy which ended up getting THREE units. Can you believe it? We went about 30 minutes before the doors opened and there were 5 or 6 people in line, so we figured we'd be good. Couldn't believe it.

We needed three for ourselves anyway, so even if we were in the front, I don't know if they'd let us get all three.

By the time we were done at Best Buy, the Sprint ones were LONG gone. I wanted to go to Sprint to begin with, to one of the launch party things last night, but for some reason we didn't do that.

No, I haven't tried it yet. I may stop by a Sprint store today on my way back from the gym to see if I can fool around with one. A dude at my job was supposed to pick one up yesterday, so I may see his tomorrow if he was successful in getting it.

I wonder if they're getting shipments tomorrow. Best Buy we put our names on a list at said they're getting a shipment Tuesday, but somehow I don't buy it.

I'm in the suburbs of LA, the San Fernando Valley. The $850 is the Best Buy price, for whatever reason. The REAL non-contract price through Sprint is $549, which is still insanity but obviously better than Best Buy's markup.

Good luck on finding one. They are pretty available around here in NYC so if you want I can call in a favor from a friend in Radio Shack and he can get you one... actually we'd have to do the entire thing over the phone though and I don't think they'd allow that for credit card purchases. Some great first impressions for you guys. Coming from an ex-iPhone user too.

Synergy seems to be all or nothing, meaning everyone you have ever emailed (GMail) will become a contact. That's pretty damn scary.

I would not use Synergy, I don't want everyone on Facebook in my phone. I want to be able to control my contacts.

Fishy, the FB thing should be fixed soon enough anyway. I agree though, as that is now, its ridiculous that you can't choose what it syncs up with.

The thing that gets me really excited about this phone is that most of the weird problems that are happening with the phone right now are easily fixable through updates. They've already released one with launch day, and since the Pre is basically do-or-die, I guarantee they'll be behind this thing as far as updates go.

To all who has the phone, make sure you update the OS to 1.0.2 and some new apps were added to the catalog this morning.

Just bought the Pre....it's freakin' BEAUTIFUL.

So natural, everything just "flows". I don't know how to describe it except it's natural.

I'm loving it so far, but I'm going to have to return it because I have a leaky/blotchy screen at the bottom. It's a known problem, so it shouldn't be a problem.
