It was pretty good overall but the special effects were terrible in places. If you can tell they're special effects or see the screen or anything like that then they're not doing their job which came up a few times. The spider thing is an example of good but the football throwing scene is an example of bad.

Same with the baseball (probably the first real bit of CGI, and was awful).

      Contraband

Redboxed it. Great film, actually. The advertisements turned me off initially, probably because of that one slow-motion explosion shot. They have to be careful how they promote their films, because that alone made me think it was going to be a different kind of film. It started off reminding me a lot of Gone in 60 Seconds, then quickly became its own thing entirely. The cast did a tremendous job, and the film kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Mark Wahlberg was spectacular in it. And did I catch a Donnie Wahlberg cameo as well?

Didn't see it yet, but what is everyone's opinions of Safehouse? I've always been a big Denzel fan but I haven't seen any of his more recent movies and was wondering if this one or Taking of Pelham or whatever are worth watching.

Also, any scary movies that you guys would recommend?

Saw MiB3 and was unimpressed. Nothing really stood out to me. I'm not even a big movie critic but it just seemed so dry.

I just recently watched it myself, i found it to be a lot like the last Bourne movie; actually it was VERY similar but still a very fun watch. It's Denzel doing what he does best

I'm not sure if I could recommend it to you because I'm not a horror expert but I've seen a korean movie called Dead Friend, I found it good but there were times I was confused and couldn't follow well the story until a friend help me understand it. Maybe you could find it in a better definition but the movie is in Youtube with english subtitles, you can see it here if you want:

Saw it with the girl friend, pretty fun movie. It's actually what a summer movie should be, full of action and explosions. Definitely this year's Transformers.

Resident Evil: Afterlife. Pretty good zombie killing ride. The over-the-top gun fights were sweet.

I actually stumbled upon one tonight that wasn't half bad. It was called Apartment 143 and it came out last year. There were several parts that made me jump. It was in a "found footage" format. I found myself fighting the urge to yell "Noonan!" at times because Michael O'Keefe (Danny Noonan in Caddyshack) was in it. Like I said, it wasn't half bad but not necessarily a must-see either. If you like horror films and movies that are kind of creepy and make you jump out of your seat at times, it's probably worth checking out on cable or Netflix, if it's on there.

Man on a Ledge: It was alright. It wasn't as thrilling as I hoped but I didn't feel my time was wasted. It's worth a rental.

The Divide: A post-apocalyptic movie about nine strangers trapped in the basement of their apartment building. The pace was very sluggish and I became bored about halfway through the movie just waiting for something to happen or for it to end. Not recommend.

                        Men In Black 3.

What a freaking movie, blows the 2nd out of the water. And is probably better then the 1st. Movie of the summer for me(yes over the Avengers), I got emotional at the end of the movie.

                          The Raid: Redemption.

Every action movie that follows will fail in comparison to The Raid Redemption. Probably for my taste the best Asian action cinema film yet. Very brutal close quarters martial arts action. Still done very well.

Men In Black 3. Very good movie, but the ending was PERFECT.

Solid B for the whole movie, but the ending was an A+.

The guy playing young K easily stole the show.
