Movies I've seen recently:

Underworld:Awakening. Terrible. Belonged on the SyFy channel and you can tell that the directors are usually TV guys. There was even one "cut to commercial" obvious spot.

Shark Night. Was one of the stupidest things ive ever watched. I was hoping it was going to be hysterically bad but it was just downright awful.

Tucker and Dale Vs Evil. Okay. Had some good moments in there.

Platoon. Finally saw this and it was awesome.

We Bought A Zoo. Damn good movie. Another fantastic performance by Damon and the rest of the cast stepped it up.

The Grey: Decent survival movie. **** wolves.

Battleship: I enjoyed it. 2 hours of entertainment and stuff being blown up.

American Reunion: Hilarious. 2nd best American Pie movie only behind American Pie 1.

Thanks in large part to FiOS Moive Night I saw Contraband and The Darkest Hour this weekend.

Really liked Contraband, and was less impressed with TDH.

I saw "The Prestige" and I was completely mind ****ed. one of the greatest films I've ever seen from an artistic point of view. Christopher Nolan is a genius

Chronicle: What a amazing ride. One of the better "found-footage" movies I've seen. The camera angles were great as were the special effects.

All the positive reviews for Chronicle have me thinking it might be my next blind buy Blu-Ray.

Having not seen the movie, I've heard the only caveat is the ending. People seemed to be torn on that aspect, but the rest of the movie seems to be pretty solid.

This documentary follows 23 year old skateboarder Josh “Skreech” Sandoval. He quits skateboarding shortly after getting sponsored and basically throws his life away. His days consist of doing drugs, drinking, and finding pools to skate in California.

Throughout the film you learn about him becoming homeless, his newborn son and get to know his girlfriend who is in High School.

It's gritty, honest, sad, and beautifully shot.

I can see why people would not like the ending. I didn't have a problem with it but I think it is worth a blind buy.

The Avengers.

Good flick, although in many ways felt like Ironman 2.5, only because Robert Downey Jr. owned every scene he was in. Still not sure about Ruffalo as The Hulk as I enjoyed Norton in that role, but he wasn't terrible.

Just saw the latest Mission Impossible and didn't like it. Thought the plot was weak and I felt this crew was a bunch of newbs rather than top notch spies. I don't think Tom has it anymore to do these type of movies.

A few weeks ago, I went and saw "The Hunger Games." I thought it was pretty good. Went out and bought the books a few days later.
