I was going to ask for some thoughts from OSers about this as I want to take my niece to see this (she's almost 4) but some reviews online i've read say this is a bit somber and almost full of pathos.

Do you think she'd be able to sit through it?

BTW how much are the gang from the Hundred Acre Woods in it? I really want to have a nostalgia blast.

      Updated my personal MCU rankings:
      Avengers 3
      Captain America Winter Solider
      Avengers 1
      Captain America Civil War
      Guardians 2
      Black Panther
      Ironman 1
      Guardians 1
      Captain America First Avenger
      Thor Ragnarok
      Spiderman
      Thor 1
      Avengers Age of Ultron
      Ironman 2
      Antman
      Thor Dark World
      Ironman 3
      Doctor Strange
      Hulk

The direction they've gone since Civil War, but especially in the past year alone. Made Thor a more comedic film, Black Panther and all that stuff will be great addition to the MCU (movie itself was really good and much different than the other MCU movies), and obviously Infinity War being the best of all the MCU movies(in my opinion at least) makes it even better.

Can't wait to see what happens in 2019. Might end up watching all the movies(from Antman and above on my list) before Avengers 4.

Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, Piglet, Rabbit, Owl, Kanga, and Roo are in it (in order of prominence). It's mostly featuring Pooh, Eeyore gets the limelight a couple of times, and Tigger is most prominent when with the rest of the bunch.

It's fairly slow, and she might be a bit too young to really grasp anything that would give you chuckles. The latter act of the film has just a couple of silly moments that she might giggle at, but I think this is more for people who can either understand the comedy bits or has a fascination of the characters already. It's devoid of a lot of "action" and normally is conversational dialogue. Pooh is a charmer, but that's coming from an adult.

Yeah that's what I would do. Very charming movie but the beginning might lose her. This movie is really for us old dudes who forget about their inner child and forget to stop and smell the roses from time to time.

Not going to get deep into it. It started off just half-decent but unfunny. It hit a certain moment though when suddenly I think everything upped itself: comedy, relationships, etc. Got much better by the end, but I think that's all on a relative scale. To be people's comedy of the year means it's just an unfortunate year for comedy. For me so far that goes to Game Night, but again that just means not much comedy this year (I have yet to see Deadpool 2).

Afterward I listened to the director's commentary, and Kay Cannon is just not very good at expressing her directing tactics in it. She's intermittently talking about the writing aspects of the film, and she didn't even write it. It definitely felt like a production where she let the actors do a lot of improvisation anyway. But the entire commentary will go 1-2 minutes without her talking, and then she'll interpret what just happened in the film as if you didn't hear or infer it already. This is not a real example, but let's say a character said: "Mom, you got it all wrong. My favorite color is blue!" Kay would then say in the commentary: "In this part, I really wanted to let the audience know that she liked the color blue." It was the most uninspired and uncompelling solo commentary I have probably ever heard before.

With you 100% on this. It's basically a sophomoric movie with a few funny scenes here and there. Cena was pretty good admittedly and might be even better as part of a support cast in something else down the road.

But there's 2 things I don't need to see in a comedy, let alone any movie:

I see they are re-releasing 2001: A Space Odyssey later this month in IMAX. I've never seen a re-released movie before, but that might have to be my first. What a cool movie to see in theater, and IMAX!

Speaking of which, crap... I have to refund my TDK IMAX ticket. I picked the one day of the week I will be busy every night this fall for things, and I'm not going to buy a ticket that is in a corner seat somewhere. Ugh.

                        The Dark Knight

It had been awhile since I actually sat down and watched this. I was mesmerized the whole time. Everything is just so brilliantly done - each piece playing and building off the next it's amazing. Ledger is superb and steals every scene as he pushes Bale's Batman to his absolute limits. The Joker is fascinating and while we don't get a montage origin his character and motivations are revealed by each layer of his actions.

This is still the top super hero film in my book.

Ledger had me LITERALLY gripping my seat and getting physically tense when he was onscreen, because I never knew what he was about to do.

One of the best performances in film. Said it.

I wanna preface this by saying that I love The Dark Knight and it's my favorite superhero movie ever, but looking back in retrospect, Two-Face was wasted. You could remove him from the movie and not much would change from it. The character deserved more shine in the movie then ultimately being an A- Joker henchman.

I thought Two-Face was going to play a big part in TDKR, with the way his story played out in TDK.

I kind of like how Nolan played with him in a way. I never liked calling him Two-Face, just Harvey. This movie was as much a Harvey film as it was a Bruce film, as it was a Joker film. He had a complete arc, and I thought it played well. Not perfectly, maybe a bit rushed... but I never thought the arc should have continued after this film.

TDK definitely had an overblown story though. That third act certainly does exhaust you when watching it, even more than the longer TDKR.
