I watched The Hunger Games with my fiance last night and when she went to bed I somehow found myself watching Cheech And Chong's Next Movie. I was 100% sober too.

Kindergarten Cop..... looking back, Ahr-nahld was cheesy as hell, but this is still one of my favorite movie scenes of his, especially 2:00 - 2:43:

Hahaha, that's one of my favorite lines from that movie.

            Cabin in the woods-9.0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember when the movie came out and it got good reviews, my friends and I wanted to see it but didn't have the time. I've been itching to see it since and i'm so glad i did. The movie is awesome.

The entire thrill ride until the last 20 minutes are so were so telling of what's become of the horror franchise. It was almost like a serious spoof of the slasher genre.

The last 20 minutes weren't necessarily terrible but wasn't needed to finish the movie, even though it was good to have an explanation of the entire thing.

Man i'm really awed at the entire thing, what a fun experience, just wish it had more Hemsworth, that guy is the man lol

Just got back from seeing The Expendables 2. Loved it! So many great cheesy lines in the movie, but they worked!

I just saw The Campaign. The movie was hilarious, though I kept wondering why the used the name Tim Wattley...

                  Just watched Three Stooges.

The actors did an awesome job of getting into character. Overall good movie.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

I watched The Dictator last night with the GF.....I can see why some people on here trashed it. The core concept of the film is pretty good but Cohen decided to go way too over the top with the farce rather than make the comedy more subtle. It was like being hammered over the head with an anvil with the way the comedy was presented. I think there's a far better movie lurking around there but Cohen wrote to excess and made it too ridiculous.

I will say though that there are some pretty good scenes that were pretty funny like the baby delivery scene and most of the scenes with Nadal were pretty damn hilarious. Otherwise, this movie was very uneven and there are a lot of places where the humor goes over like a fart in a full room.

The movie could've been better if the humor was more restrained and if they took that tact of making it about Aladeen running his country rather than a cheap "Coming to America" style comedy.

2 stars mainly for the scenes with Nadal.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

My wife was out of town all weekend, so I watched quite a few movies and played few games...as is my pattern when she's gone.

                      My son and I watched:

Scott Pilgrim vs The World: One of his favorites. I was kinda blown away by it's fast-paced style. Really cool stylistically, but I had issues with wrapping my head around it. Sort of like when I watched 'Moulin Rouge' and almost suffered an annuyerism because I CAN CAN CAN! I'm going to watch Scott Pilgrim again though, it was interesting and I'll be 'ready' for it next time.

Paul: Haha, this one was really amusing, and very well made. Loved the cast and I'm about falling in love with Kristen Wiig the more stuff I see her in. We loved it. Seth Rogan was actually amusing to me instead of annoying.

Return of the Pink Panther: One of my favorite comedies, but my son didn't care for it Oh well, it happens.

Starship Troopers: Oh yeah...my son has really taken to Paul Verhoeven He loved this and Total Recall and Robocop. Awesome flick...I knew he'd love it. Dina Meyer.....mmmmmm.....

Rebel Without a Cause: I invited my son to see this one, and see if he'd 'get' James Dean or not. He gets it! He loved the movie, and could see Dean's appeal and acting chops, not to mention how good Sal Mineo was too. Wow, what a doomed cast, huh? Natalie Wood, James Dean, Sal Mineo... I asked my son if he'd like to see Dean's other films "Giant" and "East of Eden" and he does.

And then on my own I watched:

Welcome to the Rileys. I thought it would be kinda dreary and depressing, but it was a very moving film, and great performances from the three leads of Michelle Leo, James Gandolfini and Kristen Stewart.

Extract: Jason Bateman/Kristen Wiig/Mila Kunis. Since this was a Mike Judge film, I was expecting it to be pretty funny, or at least satirical like 'Office Space'. It was a decent flick, but the weakest of all the films I watched this weekend. I really like Jason Bateman, and he kinda carried me through the film (along with the wonderful Kristen Wiig). Ben Affleck's character was kinda cool, and Mila Kunis is good and always lovely to look at, but the film just never really shifted into gear for me.

                        Movie I saw last night......

                        Red State:
This movie is similar to the incident that happened in Waco with David Koresh. I really enjoyed this film. Some people I know don't like it but I do. I am quite surprised because I didn't expect too much out of it....Overall good movie and I recommend it to you guys...

How old is your son? Depending on his age i'd have him watch East of Eden next as I think Giant might drag a bit much. Heck, it drags a bit for me! It's a great movie though and certain elements are found in the original incarnation of DALLAS.

He's 17 and a movie buff (aspires to be a film maker), and yeah, despite that it's my plan to show him EoE first and then Giant later LOL. I LOVE Giant, but it is a long view, no doubt.

Speaking of long views...I keep threatening to watch 'Cleopatra'...is it worth the 4+ hours?

Earlier today I forgot what country Marty was supposed to be in according to alternate-1985 Biff in one of my favorite movies of all time, Back to the Future Part II. I thought it was Switzerland, but this caused me to realize that I had to make the difficult decision of watching it again. I just knew it was for my own good though.
