I wasn't a big fan of it. Pixar has more dumbed down character elements in this film than both Cars films have combined.

The original script was much better for the overall film's plot, but I wasn't a fan of the plot at all either. No one trailer reveals what this film is actually about, and "Brave" has very little to do with the film in general.

I'd pass, as I've already been passing thus far. At least it looked good, but I can't just go by that. To me, this was Pixar's first real dud.

Nah. I don't feel there's any reason to watch it again. It's a technically nice blu-ray if you must have all of those. Even then you're better off getting Lawrence of Arabia or The Dark Knight Rises (the sound is so good you can almost actually make out Bane!...almost).

Ted I enjoyed it for what it was, nothing I'll be quoting for years to come, but not so bad I would turn it off.

Looper Not bad, but a little too loosey-goosey for a sci-fi nerd like myself.

Hilarious. I have nothing else to add.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

Don't really feel like a long drawn out review this week so i'll just do a quick line for the two movies I watched:

                  The Unknown Man (1951)
: Pretty good movie and Walter Pidgeon was his usual fine self. The movie was a little too earnest for the kind of story it was telling but overall it was good. I usually don't mind a narrator in films but it was unnecessary for this one. 2 1/2 out of 4 stars

Zeppelin (1971): Not a bad movie at all though the story strains credulity at times but a young Michael York does a passable job in his role and Elke Sommer is easy on the eyes. Pay attention to actor Peter Carsten as I thought he was excellent as the German Major Tauntler. The shots of the Zeppelin in the sky and such were quite nice. 2 1/2 out of 4 stars.

Easily in my top 20 comedy movies. And yes, the original.

                      Lincoln...

Is now one of my top-5 all-time favorite movies. I felt as if I actually met the man in 2 1/2 hours, and was simply amazed by the tremendous cast of characters. Spielberg is just amazing... Daniel Day-Lewis should be given he award right now, and Sally Field was powerful, and I loved Tommy Lee Jones'... Worth every penny, and probably will make a return visit to the theater.

Loved Lincoln, but agree with thoughts on another board that the plot and editing are pretty rough. Can expand on that when I'm not on my phone sometime. Fantastic movie, but have no interest sitting down and re-watching it anytime soon. Will grab it on Blu-Ray for sure.

Spot on here, truly a "dud".

As a parent, taking in the newest Pixar is a tradition, one event I definitely enjoy and look forward to. I had taken my daughter to see Brave, and for the first time ever with a Pixar we both came out of the theatre disappointed.

So without a doubt we should be passing on adding this movie to our Blu ray collection, but we've got to add it to keep the oerall collection intact.

I've not seen it, but the impressions from people I know have all been positive. Its supposed to be $8.50 sometime this week on Amazon - worth it to me.

Yeah, I really liked the special effects.

I think I may buy it if it's on sale this week.
