I saw about 15 minutes of Men In Black 3 and was astonished at how well Josh Brolin channeled Tommy Lee Jones. Didn't want to spoil the movie so I set it up to record the entire thing later today.

Earlier I saw the second half of W, so I have now seen the whole thing. Again, Josh Brolin really impressed. The script made W seem like a cartoon character, but Brolin was very impressive with what he had to work with. Given his work elsewhere, such as No Country For Old Men and True Grit, Brolin has really put together some terrific work.

Wreck it Ralph (2012)

Pure awesomeness!

I loved the first part of the movie with all those retro video game characters and such. Ralph was very likable and I enjoyed the story. You could tell this was a labor of love as the animators did some great stuff with the video game subject matter. Fix It Felix and Ralph had a quasi Mario and Donkey Kong feel and look to their characters which if this wasn't a Disney Film would've been even more interesting and would've led to more easter eggs/in jokes.

At first I thought the movie was going to go downhill what with the majority of it taking place in the Sugar Rush game but Vanelope was a spunky and likable character in her own right. I had some good laughs when she and Ralph were building her race car LOL!

This movie would definitely be fun for kids yet it also caters to the parents big time what with all the retro video game goodies. I wish we could've seen more of Zangief as his characterization was funny as hell.

Side Effects - it was a good movie. Didn't see the end coming.

Gravity - great movie. I didn't know much going into it and really enjoyed it. Keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Pretty good suspense and mystery for most of it. Suprisingly good compared to the expectations I had going in. Then that "Don't visit goh on movie night" thing kicks in.

About what you'd expect from a horror flick like plot holes and a conclusion that feels rushed. Not something I'd recommend seeing, but not something I'd argue against watching.

The wife and I watched "Now You See Me" last night.

This film was quite a fun ride, with a very good cast, a rollercoaster pace and a fun plot. It's kind of a fun, thinking-man's lite film.

We'd like to see it again sometime.

In Search of Midnight Kiss

Went home for lunch and it was on Showtime. Watched part of it on my break, then DVR'd it and watched the rest tonight. Not the kind of movie I normally watch, but I got sucked in. It was interesting.

I've still got to see Gravity in the theater.

Was incredibly disappointed in this one.

Boring. Terrible CGI when used. Bad acting. Not really scary. Shame, too.


I watched The Conjuring again. Solid movie. Not as scary the second time when you know what's coming, but still a creepy movie.

The Way Way Back

I didn't know what this was or why I wanted to see it,I just remembered I wanted to for some reason. To parapharse a Simpsons quote "When <s>Poochie</s> Owen isn't on screen,all the other characters should be asking "Where's <s>Poochie</s> Owen?"" Standard boring coming of age summer trip saved and upgraded to -hey it's alright- single handedly by Sam Rockwell. Jim Rash also very good. Steve Carrell has a serious role and Rob Corddry does pretty much nothing.

I didn't know what the story was actually about when I started watching; just that it was a true story about teens ripping off rich folks. I didn't know they had targeted celebrities.

Anyway, the bottom line is I watched it for Emma Watson, and she looked amazing and erases any doubts about the exceptional quality of her gams

My problem with the film was I didn't like any of the characters and I didn't like what they were doing. I DID like that they got caught (not a spoiler)...but a study of vapid people doing stupid **** doesn't wag my tail.

Wasn't that the point? For them to be entirely unlikable and get what's coming to them? Kinda like Cloverfield. I haven't watched it so maybe I'm wrong there...



...that's all I really needed to see of it.

Anyway, yeah, you're right that was probably the point (them being unlikeable and getting what they had coming). My point is that Sophia teetered too much and fell just on the side of glamorizing what they did a little too much, especially since they got off pretty light considering their sentences. Wonder if they really did wind up paying their restitutions as well.

Well....kudos to the actors then for making me dislike all of them.

Yep the people in The Bling Ring are unlikeable pieces of crap which is the only reason i'm never gonna watch it.

I went in with no expectations and actually came away fairly entertained. I'm not sure why such harsh negative reviews. As long as it's not taken so seriously.

Although one running theme I'm sort of tired of in movies in general....
