What movies have you seen recently?

Gone Girl

The first 45 minutes to an hour was honestly one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Acting was horrible, script was horrible, no likeable characters, boring as hell....

The second half was much better. Things got really interesting and kept my attention til the end.

It still wasn't great, but worth a watch if you can stay awake through the first half.

Like I said, it's worth a watch, but the first half was one of the worst movie experiences I have ever had. It's bad... Real bad. I don't see it mentioned in any reviews, but I understand why--the second half of the film is a completely different movie. It can be easy to forget the bad stuff... I couldn't.

I personally thought it was amazing. One of the best movies I've seen in awhile. I thought everyone did a great job acting. The first 30 minutes or so are definitely slow, but it's all building up. I thought it was very well done.

From the debacle that was Ronin 47 to Dallas Buyers Club.

The leap in acting was like going from Atari to Xbox One.

This is what I was saying in the Gone Girl thread.
Getting through that book was torture....and even "the good parts" seemed forced to me.
Getting through the beginning of that book was absolutely mind numbing.

The Equalizer, very good movie....Denzel has never done a part 2 much less a franchise but I would love for this to be his first.

Godzilla (the new one).

--It was pretty good, and WAAAAAY better than the Matthew Broderick one. I would have like to have seen a bit more monster fighting (this is a monster movie at the end of the day), but overall it was enjoyable. For this 'type' of film, I preferred 'Battleship' with it's entertaining writing and humor, and fun action, but I get what they were trying for with Godzilla, and that's a different direction.

--Hot damn! This was outstanding, simply, and I can't wait to get it on BluRay and watch it on a GOOD display (I saw it on a tiny screen on a plane and STILL loved it).

I never hated the matthew brodick won thought it was ok and I thought the new one was kind of ok but yeah Godzilla wasn't in the movie enough and I didn't like that baryon carsons character died so early in the movie has he was the best character in the movie. Yeah XMEN DOFP was really good. Great year for CBM has cap 2 and Xmen DOFP where both great and I don't know what movie people saw but man amazing spider man 2 was even better then cap 2 or dofp.

Watched a few of my favorite recent digital purchases again this weekend... DOFP, Edge of Tomorrow, Draft Day and the latest Transformers.

Next up going to pick up Chef.

Just watched Captain America 2 Winter Soldier.

Pretty badass movie man. Good stuff. ScarJo is fire sauce. Sequel should be tight.

So after seeing Gone Girl, I really want to see some more of Fincher's stuff, because outside of Se7en, I don't think I've seen any of his other films.

Which ones would you recommend?
