The Bourne Legacy
Pretty good. Had a lot of tie-ins to the previous three films, and did a serviceable job making sure it didn't stray too far away. It definitely felt different though, but not like Identity did from Supremacy and Ultimatum. Obviously no Damon, but there's a different score and a different attitude.
The three acts were very distinguishable, with the first being the best. Renner is maturated with every film I see him in, and he is a good sell-job for a high-profile assassin. There has to be a film where Bourne and Cross either duel or match up. Probably would be better than Batman versus Superman.
This film was a bit short on foot pursuits and lacked an "epic fight," and as I said it just didn't have the same feel as the last three. The only scenes which did, in fact, were the ones with Edward Norton, who started off as a very strong character and ultimately didn't have much by the end.
This is one of the better looking and sounding Blu-rays ever, though. The fidelity was amazing. I paused moments and rewound certain effects that just had to be heard over and over again. Oh, and this contains probably one of the most realistically shocking and disturbing scenes for a PG-13 film that I have ever seen. It was so tough to sit through just for how visceral it felt. Well-directed, but wasn't like Greengrass so it is definitely not the Bourne of old.
I didn't feel like it broke a trilogy though, so that's good. It's almost a spin-off, and I'm okay with that.
