21 Jump Street is better overall. The scene where Tatum/Hill take the drugs at school is one of my favorites from a recent comedy. The Other Guys is pretty hysterical, though.

The steps to tripping on whatever that drug was called were friggin' hilarious.

Pompeii Kept me entertained. Although I watched it in 2D, you could easily see shots that were taken with 3D in mind. Somebody described this as Spartacus + "name your favorite disaster movie" ....which perfectly describes this.

No love for Elf or Stranger Than Fiction?

To be fair, The Other Guys was fine until a little before the last act. There were parts in the end that were just a joke, and honestly I think I'm lowering the film a little too much because of some of the stupider moments in the film. I mean I'll give it to ya'll, the beginning of the movie (especially with Johnson and Jackson) probably can't be topped. "Aim for the bushes" is historic.

Looking back in my mind, the best part of that movie were the running gags that went on: Ferrell being a pimp, the wooden gun, Keaton's TLC references and working at Bed Bath & Beyond or wherever, Ferrell getting smoking hot women, Wahlberg's art/dance knowledge and skills just to 'make fun of other people,' stuff like that was just fantastic. I think it was the Ershon stuff that just didn't do it for me, and just the terrible back-and-forth with the grandma between Ferrell and Mendes. There were others, but the good parts got a bit outweighed with the goofy parts. I really think I should re-watch it though.

21 Jump Street is actually on a different level, because personally I just didn't find it that funny. Of course there were funny parts (and the majority were sadly in the trailers), but it didn't do it for me as a comedy more than I just liked the story develop, especially with Hill and the girl. We'll see if they keep a little bit of charm in 22 Jump Street now that they're in college.

I just watched the super sized "763 New Jokes!" version of Anchorman 2. Still funny, not necessarily essential viewing. But if you're bored, you could do worse.

The best alternate joke was actually from the Line-O-Rama special feature.

I'll say this, there are 4 movies in the theaters I want to see eventually but haven't been able to see them yet. Godzilla, X-Men, Neighbors and A Million Ways...
I would watch Cap 2 again over any of those movies. It was that good.

Prisoners, great movie. It was hard watching it though. Jackman was amazing in it and he made it gut wrenching to watch.

Then follow that up with Fruitvale Station, things just get more depressing. lol. I gotta say Michael B. Jordan has come a long way from Wallace in The Wire. Amazing performance, I see him doing big things in the future.

I gotta find a happy movie next no matter how cheesy it is. I'll probably hold off watching 12 Years of Slave next.

Godzilla!

The entire theater started laughing when dude first said Godzilla.

I thought it was a pretty good movie and the human element actually made the movie better than just a few huge beasts battling it out.

I didn't expect such a huge Navy presence in the movie. How does a 2 star Admiral only have one warfare pin ? I guess that's just something I would pay attention to.

Well I enjoyed the fun ride that was "Battleship" some months ago and I was fine with all the crazy stuff going on in that film, but I got hung up on how the hell did the main character wind up at that high a rank in such a short span of time lol.

Two most recent movies I've watched are Divergent and Neighbors. Divergent was great (had never read the books, don't plan to) and can't wait for the next one. Neighbors was really hilarious. Seth Rogen was great and Zac Efron played his character well as well.
