That's one of those movies that I'm happy when people like it as much as I do. Such a good ****ing movie.

I'm going to go watch it now, instead of Catching Fire. Wanted a JLaw fix and forgot about that one.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

During intermission of Hawks-Kings game yesterday I was just going through some channels and started watching Marley and Me. Saw maybe several minutes and that was it. Then today I decided I was gonna watch the full movie(it was replaying again on tv so I just watched it).

Only parts I hate are how it seemed to just skip time out of nowhere. One scene something happens, and next scene,it's randomly like 1 year later. Stuff involving main characters and the dog were good, but most of the side/minor characters stuff wasn't really that interesting/relevant to the movie.

Movie was good, sucks they never actually got to properly train the dog after all those years, but the final few scenes were crazy! The build up to the end and then that scene at the vets! Owen Wilson-Jennifer Aniston together in that movie were real great.

Saw Godzilla. Entertaining for the most part. Loved some of the earlier monster scenes. Gave an awesome sense of there size and scale.

Also watched Frozen recently and enjoyed it. I'm a sucker for the Disney movies. Don't know how they do it.

I agree with you Dayman. I've only seen that movie once and I'm not going to watch it again. I'm not a fan of crying while watching a movie.

Best movie ever. Loved every thing about it. Perfectly done.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

The Amazing Spiderman (the first one from like 2012 or 2013?)

It had its uber corny moments, but the original from early 2000s broke records on corny cliches; so I can live with it. A few things were lost on me like why the guy's arm kept disappearing and re-appearing. I figured once it grew the first time it was there to stay but I obviously missed something there.

I felt they didnt give enough for Emma Stone to do. She was pretty one dimensional; which may have been done intentionally. I dont know how she was in the second movie but to me all she was was a cute face. The villain even clowned her *** and completely ignored her which I found hilarious. What kind of villain doesnt threaten Spiderman's girlfriend? Thats Spidey 101.

I also though Uncle Ben's death scene was an abomination. I just thought it was pretty dumb. (is that a spoiler? Uncle Ben always dies)

Overall I liked it though. Felt a bit dark but thats fine. This is what The Dark Knight has done to superhero movies it seems.

The only thing I inherently disliked was "cartridge web device spiderman". I just like "shoots out of his actual wrist spidey" better. It just makes more sense that he discharges web from his body rather than a device on his wrist. Its very nitpicky I admit but if he has to get new cartridges from Oscorp every so often, the police would track him down instantly. Just sayin.

Now I have to see The Amazing Spiderman 2: Jaime Foxx Un-retires

I just youtube'd the scene. I was like why did they just paste the Tokyo Drift scene at then end? Then I'm like, "is that Jason Statham?"

Interesting, but the movie still ended a bit too lovey dovey imo. I do look forward to the next movie though.

Your post made me do some researching of an old post I remember that I made, and I just had to find it again. From this thread:

                      http://www.operationsports.com/forum...e-explain.html

                      A couple of quick snippets:

Just like I described Up In the Air as a "flawless" movie... but just because it is, doesn't necessarily make it my favorite (though I did like it a lot). I don't know... in some ways it is a terrific piece, but to be a masterpiece it needs to avoid the flaws that it had.

Needless to say, I think that Inception will be a nice prelude to Batman 3, which could be the movie of this next decade.

At this point, we really just ask: "What hasn't it influenced?" It seems that too many films within its genre and such has followed down some path begun by TDK, whether it's including "Dark" in the title, giving a "gritty" portrayal to an already well-defined world, having interrogations with a villain who gets himself captured, filming in IMAX, and only for a small few less CGI and more practical stunts... whatever it is, I really think that my statement stands five-ish years later. You saying it with TASM is no different.

I don't think it influenced Avatar though. Chances are filming was probably nearly done for that one by the time TDK came out anyway, so there are definitely latent effects as far as which films had been inspired by it (even something like Skyfall).

On another note, there are plenty of movies that I have seen recently but I have procrastinated on writing any impressions about. If people are interested about what I have to say, I'll write about them. Otherwise, I'll just list them:

                        The Amazing Spider-Man 2
                        Captain America: The Winter Soldier
                        Godzilla

                        Prisoners
                        The Great Gatsby

                        Soon to see:

                        X-Men: Days of Future Past
                        Argo

I hear you but Im assuming they figured anyone who saw Fast 6 either has seen all the others, or couldnt care less about going back and watching the 3rd movie.

This'll be my last one, Im just overloading this thread this weekend.

                                The Illusionist
Ed Norton really needs to be in more movies. I spent too much time trying to logically figure out how he did all his illusions. You just have to sit back and enjoy the Hollywood behind the magic much like in Now you See Me. Clever set ups and it had a satisfactory twist ending.

                                The Dark Night Rises
Ive already commented on thus when it first came out. I just cant get over how Gordon Levitt just knew Bruce Wayne was Batman. WAT. I still think Bane was a glorified henchmen. I was so disappointed at the big reveal there and just fell off the Bane boat, but I still liked the movie. It was fun. Plenty of holes to nitpick about but I'll spare you guys. It was gonna be hard to match The Dark Night and they tried their hardest, but the second movie was just too damn good.

                                The Normal Heart
This movie came on right after The Dark Night Rises and I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I think it was an HBO produced film so I had never heard of it till then. Mark Ruffalo went all the way in on his role. Kudos to all the actors in this throwing their reservations on the ground and embracing it all.
