Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I saw 22 Jump Street over the weekend. Definitely enjoyed 21 better. It wasn't bad, and I liked the self-parody of it being the same exact case in the beginning... That was clever... But it was missing something the first one had. I enjoy Ice Cube as just the mean dude in the office, so I wasn't thrilled with him getting in on the action. The scene where they end up getting high wasn't nearly as classic as the one in 21.
Overall, I'd say it was worth the watch, but at this point, I'd wait for it to come to Red Box/Amazon Prime.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I think if I had to chose a personal favorite Disney film both Aladdin and Mulan would be near the top simply because they're the most unique among the library of films.
Anyway, our local indie cinema was showing Princess Bride Saturday morning so I had to go. Still great after the 1,000th time watching this thing. Andre's role/performance is underrated I think especially since there's so many classic one-liners zinging around, but he's great throughout.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
The Counselor
Started off alright even though it was a little hard to pick up as to what was going on at first. Had everything one would look for in a movie about selling drugs. Violence, sexy women, nice cars, and strong cast of familiar faces. Brad Pitt and Javier Bardem were fantastic. Cameron Diaz despite being ugly and using a body double has one of the hottest scenes I have seen in a movie in a long time.
You quickly realize beyond that the movie offers very little. Story is all over the place with a stupid ending. Not to day say shouldn't watch it because with its flaws, I still think it was better than many critics made it out to be. Should have been better considering all involved, though. No doubt about that.Comment

Saw Jaws on the big screen Saturday night. Was showing over the 4th of July weekend at a local theater in St. Loo.
Movie perfection. They don't make em like that anymore.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
....says Quint. Hehe.
Quint: What d'ya have there - a portable shower or a monkey cage?
Hooper: Anti-Shark cage.
Quint: Anti-shark cage. You go inside the cage?
[Hooper nods]
Quint: Cage goes in the water. You go in the water. Shark's in the water. Our shark.
[sings]
Quint: Farewell and adieu to you, fair Spanish ladies. Farewell and adieu, you ladies of Spain. For we've received orders for to sail back to Boston. And so nevermore shall we see you again.Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Watched The World's End since I had it on the DVR. While I did enjoy it, I was left underwhelmed. Probably due to the hype because it's a new Pegg and Frost movie, or the fact that the wholeSpoilerrunning from the aliens for the latter half of the movie got stale.Comment

Think Like a Man Too
I recently saw the first one and really liked it. It had its message and hit the right notes. This movie fell for every sequel trap possible. Setting the film in Vegas was a death sentence and the plot helped nothing. The film lost its vision and message from the first film. I was very disappointed in this movie. I dont remember laughing once to be honest. Pure Hollywood cash in that trampled on the nice foundation it built in the first movie. For shame. To me this "franchise" could have used an entirely new cast. But you know, these movies hit success and try to recreate it by any means necessary including forcing returning characters who have nothing to really do, and adding new ones for reasons unknown. Drake was in the movie as himself you guys. Why?Last edited by kingkilla56; 07-09-2014, 01:29 PM.Comment
