I recently been dvd watching lately. Summer School always enjoy it as it's a light hearted comedy starring mark harmon & kirstie alley. Another film I watched was The Entity starring barbara hershey & ron silver. It's about a ghost that attacks a women in her home. Love the atmosphere of the film no cheesy digital effects.

Monuments Men. Hadn't planned on watching this but the fam rented it. It was......okay. Interesting story, but I can't imagine they made much money on this with the stars they had to pay and the sets and fake art works they had to construct.

I don't think there is a set formula for how much a movie actually profits, but in this case all the stars took a fraction (reportedly 1/10th or 1/15th) of their normal earnings with a substantial backend if the movie was a success. That got the budget to right at $70 million with domestic and overseas virtually equal at about $77-$78 million for a $155 million overall take. Despite the $85 million on the plus side I have zero idea about the film's profits or whether the stars made any meaningful backend money.

Plus, the film is like what, 80 minutes? Though it's not a summer blockbuster, that might still squeeze in one extra screen time daily, and it also might attract others into saying: "Hey, that's short enough... let's go see it."

Only the original Jaws is any good, but it is a masterpiece. Jaws 2 is decent and is saved by the Brody character and shark scenes. Jaws 3 and 4 are God-awful and besmirch the Jaws name.

Sex Tape, not really funny. Only a few good parts that made me laugh. Overall, very boring and definitely not worth $20. Corddry wasn't even good in this.

What did you see, an IMAX 3D showing? Yikes that's a high price for a theatrical viewing!

The Purge 2. With this type of movie, you know what you are getting yourself into. Plenty of guns and violence, and a somewhat coherent plot.

                              No replay value though.

                                The Place Beyond The Pines

It has been on my DVR for the better part of a month, just got around to watching it yesterday. Great movie. 4 out of 5 Stars.
