I completely disagree. I'm not sure on what your basing your comments from other than your local connections, but once the trailer came out I think it caused quite a stir. Sort of like "Ghostbusters" when it premiered.
Offbeat doesn't equal suck.Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I think he means before the trailer. There were plenty of questions about whether it would be successful or too much to introduce to the established Marvel world, from what I remember.
After the trailer, though, yeah, everyone was all in because it looked good.
Can't judge the movies mentioned until we see it in action.Comment

Here's what they said in the movie.SpoilerHis job said that they had Craig on some security camera stealing boxes. Fired him on the spot. They'd have to show him proof of that to me, before they could do that.Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Yeah absolutely. Just like now I was skeptical of Asgard and Thor being introduced into the 'plausible' world of Iron Man, I thought Guardians was going to be damn near impossible to really pull off. I have the same skepticism for Doctor Strange and evolving from the 'its such high technology it's like magic to you' approach they took with Asgard.I think he means before the trailer. They have yet to disappoint.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Sadly, I was as disappointed with Thor as I thought I'd be. Asgard has no business being in that world IMO, and I haven't liked either film. I didn't even like Loki until after The Avengers, and I think that's only because I started to appreciate the actor (Hiddleston) in anything other than his films.Yeah absolutely. I enjoyed GotG, but it served its purpose as a summer popcorn flick, and I really have no more use for it.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Ender's Game. There were parts that I liked but this movie missed for me. I liked the ending game sequence but it felt a lot was missing.
I enjoyed Harrison Fords and the actor who played Ender's performance but the plot wasn't there for me.

My wife and I watched This is 40 last night. Enjoyed it. A lot of funny parts but a little long for a comedy I think.Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Sin City 2. Had my tv convert the 3D to 2D (didn't feel like wearing the glasses). Story isn't close to being as good as the first, but it sure is eye candy. Great PQ. I'm sure it must be awesome in 3D.Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I think part of the problem is that the comic books had/have months and months to work through integrating the storylines. The movies have more time limitations and Marvel has seemingly had to rush through some of these in my opinion. I think this is what made Cap 1 primarily unlikeable to some; i.e., "here's the Red Skull.... and Bucky.... and now they're dead." I thought Thor 1 was a pretty good integration of the two worlds as well as depicting Asgard as "realistically" as possible, but they lost me with Thor 2 and the heavy reliance on the common Earth folk. I.M. 2 was also lost on many people, including me (I'm a Cheadle fan, but not in that role.... War Machine wasn't a necessary character and felt forced into the script) and I.M. 3 was a struggle for some, but the subsequent one-shot I think has some I.M. fans hopeful. So I think there is some level of disappointment depending on one's taste and depending on future integrations of characters with the expanse coming, we'll see how that's pulled off and if there will be enough space on the screen to handle giant melees. So far, that kind of action has been tough to pull off, it seems.Sadly, I was as disappointed with Thor as I thought I'd be.
