Just saw this in 3D. It was good. Having not seen the original 2 movies in forever, I saw this was just a vague memory of the older ones. The visuals were very good, but it didn't have enough "scary" moments.

Re: Alien Prequel Now "Prometheus"
By the way,Spoilerthroughout the movie there were so many similarities to things I remember seeing in the first couple of Alien movies, especially the first one. The way Dr. Shaw signed off at the end, hell, even Dr. Shaw reminded me of Ripley, the look of some of the scenes inside the ship, things like that.
One thing I took away from the movie that I didn't see mentioned in this last couple of pages is I think "the engineers" had all of those canisters to take to earth because they wanted to continue playing God. Next stage of evolution? Why else would those tentacled things even exist? Just to kill humans? I guess that all goes back to the many questions I'm left with after watching it.MLB: Cincinnati Reds

Re: Alien Prequel Now "Prometheus"
Apparently the blu-ray/dvd release is going to include 20-30 minutes of deleted scenes with an extended cut included.

This was a no brainer, despite him saying a couple of weeks ago that there wouldn't be one. IMO, there should be another hour of scenes, so many more things need to be fleshed out.Jordan Mychal Lemos

I'm not expecting this to be as drastic a change as the Blade Runner theatrical cut vs. director's cut, though.

Re: Alien Prequel Now "Prometheus"
Just saw it in IMAX 3D and loved it. Thought the 3D was very good, unlike most 3D films. You can tell that this was shot in 3D and it definitely showed.
As for the story, I thought it was good. I was intrigued and entertained the entire time, which is exactly what I was hoping for. Can't wait for the blu-ray.Comment

SpoilerWhat does the opening scene have to do with the story? Where the Giant alien drinks the black stuff and kills himself?Comment

Re: Alien Prequel Now "Prometheus"
Apart from the character logic problems, I thought the overall story and especially the undertones, themes, and symbolism were very well done. I'd rather a movie embark and leave with some notes of ambiguity than ask no questions at all. I don't think Lindelof wrote a bad screen-play. His characters' logic were pretty much in tune with his characters on LOST. Hopefully the deleted scenes give the characters a bit more reasoning.

Just left IMAX. I really enjoyed it. Went into it with an open mind. Definitely will dig deeper once I pick-up the Blu Ray

Interesting take on the movie. Link was on Fark. The author doesn't seem very happy with it.
