Just saw this in 3D. It was good. Having not seen the original 2 movies in forever, I saw this was just a vague memory of the older ones. The visuals were very good, but it didn't have enough "scary" moments.

I saw it today in the same format and came away feeling the same way. I will say that I'm not sure what I was expecting from this movie but immediately after the film ended I was left with a lot of questions. Maybe it's because it ended with the feeling that this totally has a sequel movie to follow. I remember telling my brother-in-law and his brother as we were walking out, "What did just watch?" Some of the posts in this thread brought up some things I never thought about at the time they happened in the movie.

Apparently the blu-ray/dvd release is going to include 20-30 minutes of deleted scenes with an extended cut included.

This was a no brainer, despite him saying a couple of weeks ago that there wouldn't be one. IMO, there should be another hour of scenes, so many more things need to be fleshed out.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Apart from the character logic problems, I thought the overall story and especially the undertones, themes, and symbolism were very well done. I'd rather a movie embark and leave with some notes of ambiguity than ask no questions at all. I don't think Lindelof wrote a bad screen-play. His characters' logic were pretty much in tune with his characters on LOST. Hopefully the deleted scenes give the characters a bit more reasoning.

I'm not expecting this to be as drastic a change as the Blade Runner theatrical cut vs. director's cut, though.

Just saw it in IMAX 3D and loved it. Thought the 3D was very good, unlike most 3D films. You can tell that this was shot in 3D and it definitely showed.

As for the story, I thought it was good. I was intrigued and entertained the entire time, which is exactly what I was hoping for. Can't wait for the blu-ray.

This describes my feelings on the movie pretty much. I like ambiguity as a component of storytelling—especially in movies. My problem with writing was truly with the character logic, as you put it. The themes and the rest of the implicit in Prometheus are all fine, but Lindeloff's characters were flat and seemed awkwardly out of place within the set pieces of the story.

Just left IMAX. I really enjoyed it. Went into it with an open mind. Definitely will dig deeper once I pick-up the Blu Ray

Interesting take on the movie. Link was on Fark. The author doesn't seem very happy with it.

I haven't seen the film but considering the comments I've read about it, that hilarious review seems to cover every major plot point and drip of anger I'd experience if I had.
