Haha! I have only watched the preview once in completion. I have tried to avoid watching commercials or reading about the plot.

Movies like Shutter Island have plots that get me very excited to watch a story unfold. That's why I'll read the book first. I want to get lost in that world before I see it.

The film was promoted a bit at the Golden Globes. Scorsese received the Cecil B. DeMille Award and the video tribute to him included a lot of Shutter Island in it. Look forward to this one.

Is this one of those things that looks all cool and supernatural/magical in the trailer and that stuff turns out to be like 2 minutes total of the movie in some sequence that has absolutely nothing to do with the main story? (*coughpanscoughlabyrinth* *coughbridgetocoughterribithiacough*)

In this case I'm sure it'll out good anyway but it's better to know what to expect.

Excellent movie. Thought it was gruesomely beautiful if that makes sense (lots of blood, death etc. but all beautifully shot and framed... and with the nature of the movie the colors were all very dark and dull.... except for the blood which really stood out in terms of contrasting styles)

I never read the book so I'm not sure how much the movie stuck to the plot... but it was entertaining throughout.

I liked how the twist was set up. I wasn't sure until the last scene with Ruffalo and DiCaprio smoking that Leo was actually crazy... and not just being played by Kingsley and the staff.

The movie also featured some great bit parts from Jackie Earle Haley, Emily Mortimer and Ted Levine. Haley is the standout though.

I loved this one from start to finish.

After their work in Gangs of New York, The Aviator, The Departed and Shutter Island, I can safely say that I will be first in line for all Scorsese-DiCaprio collaborations from here on out.

Can't say enough good things about this one.

I think you'll be surprised to find out the premise of this movie.
