I really liked the cartoon series so hopefully they won't F up the story too much for me.

The only thing I don't love (and usually I like when movies go a more serious route) is the tone. Part of the charm of the cartoon series is the goofy kid comedy moments they mix in with the action. We'll see though.

Loved the cartoon but I'm feeling very iffy about this movie. Not only because of MNS but yeah I'll leave that alone.

You've gotta give brosef credit though, he knows how to market the eff out of his name. Almost seems like the movie's official name is M. Night Shyamalan's Last Air bender.

I haven't been a fan of MNS in general due to his patented twist, but I'll still probably see this.

There was a premiere for this two nights ago in 3D in Manhattan. I just missed the cut-off.

There were a TON of people on line for this. I had never heard of it until that night. Seems interesting. People were very excited about it.

"The Last Airbender" is an agonizing experience in every category I can think of and others still waiting to be invented. The laws of chance suggest that something should have gone right. Not here. It puts a nail in the coffin of low-rent 3D, but it will need a lot more coffins than that.

It's supposed to be unbelievably bad.

I'm guessing it will do really poorly at the box office.

M Night Shamalamadingdong is a freaking genious. How he can magically get studios to continue to fund his movies as he continually makes turkey after turkey is breathtaking.

I can't believe his name and the word Avatar in the title didn't persuade critics it was a great movie and won't get the audience to come see it in droves.

I think he's actually filming another movie right now. No wonder some studios are going belly up when they finance crap like this.

What? Shyamalan hasn't had a decently reviewed movie since '02.

If anything his name being on this could only be bad from a critic's standpoint.

Wow Roger Ebert, tell us how you really feel! That has to be one of the worst reviews I have ever read. It's too bad, because the animated series on Nick was really a great story all the way around. There was talk that they were going to make three of these movies, one for each of the seasons the show was on Nick, but that's only if it did well. I guess they can forget it now!

Agreed. I saw on the news how much $ the studio gave him to make this movie and literally could not believe it. Clearly this man is either a world-class persuader or has some dirt on every major movie exec in the biz.
