 Re: Community

I associate Subway so strongly with Chuck, it is odd to see it on Community.Comment

 Re: Community

This was the best episode since the long break IMO.

The Troy-Abed rift makes me uneasy because I love them as a tandem SO much, but it's making for good TV.

I absolutely loved Subway. The whole concept was hilarious.

The Jeff/ Annie/ Kim (who?) saga was entertaining as well.

The cliff hanger has me super excited.

 Re: Community

My sentiments exactly. Very good episode, but I am quite nervous about Troy and Abed. Would the writers do something so radical as to split them up for good? This was the best episode since the long break IMO.

I can't see them splitting up one of their biggest attractions when they're on the brink of cancellation. If anything the fight will bring them closer.Kansas City Royals | FC Barcelona | New Orleans Pelicans

 Re: Community

Come on. These guys are like the Mad Men of comedy. Their writing is pretty air-tight and the cast really surprised with how good they are especially considering that Chevy Chase is on the show and he's probably the least popular character.

I think its healthy and realistic for one of them to change or stop "progressing" down the same path and say, "hold up." It happens in a lot of relationships and I doubt it will be "forever," but I'm not worried because these guys are pretty good at creating stories and relationships in a 22 minute show.

 Re: Community

I agree. I felt the first show back tried too hard to be Community...if that makes any sense (like trying to live up to the hype we all created in it's absence). It just seemed...forced. The second one was better, but not a particularly strong episode. This was the best episode since the long break IMO.

This one fell back in the full stride of awesomeness. Everyone just seemed back on track (loved the side stuff with Pierce too, btw).Comment

You do know that both those episodes were written and filmed prior to the decision to put the show on a break, right?I agree. Re: Community

I knew they were written..didn't know they were filmed though, no.

I guess that makes the timing a coincidence (and obviously throws out the living up to it's own hype idea), but it doesn't change my feelings about those shows. The first one in particular just felt really forced in delivery compared to a lot of episodes.

There are two shows that make me literally laugh out loud almost throughout: Community and Modern Family. That first episode back just didn't have as much of that for me. One of the few in the series.Comment
