I like Juno. Having known people that actually talk like that, the dialogue didn't really stick out like a sore thumb like it does with a lot of people. I've heard good things about Cody's United States of Tara, so I will stay optimistic about this movie. The movie poster bothers me though:

Brooke Busey err...... Diablo Cody tries to put the "hip" in "hipster".
I do think she's one of the bettter young writers in Hollywood but I have a feeling this movie will flop. I don't believe Megan Fox is a box office draw outside Transformer movies.Comment

It looks like I was right. Jennifer's Body was a complete bomb. It only made around 7 million opening weekend. Megan Fox is on the cover of several magazines and she did a lot of press for the film.
The movie campaign was built around Megan Fox kissing another girl and seeing her with little clothes on and it still didn't sell tickets.Comment

The movie failed because the writing and story sucked. IT didn't know if it wanted to be a comedy, parody or horror movie. Megan Fox (or Amanda Seyfriend) had no bearing on that.HELLO BROOKYLN.

Diablo Cody's satirical spin on high school hierarchies and female sexuality is a dud.
The movie was on a path to nowhere right from the beginning. The film wasn't funny or scary. You're asking for trouble when you cast Megan Fox to carry a film. All the "good" parts are already in the red band trailer.
The best part of the film was Adam Brody playing an emo rocker. I didn't think he could pull off this role bit he did.
The Blu Ray I rented didn't have any special features on it (bad trend.....)

Read the script and watched this pile of trash online.
And no, not for Megan Fox. I already dislike her and don't find her hot (pretty girl, but nothing special. Actually, I think Amanda Seyfried is much more attractive. Always liked her since Mean Girls).
Anyway, I watched it because it was Diablo Cody and I thought she deserved my time because Juno was that good.
I think this movie is Cody trying to figure out what kind of writer she wants to be. She hasn't chosen a genre or style. She seems to think that character dialogue is a style or genre and it's not. It's unfortunate because Cody can write great dialogue (that fits the atmosphere of her films) but I'm not sure she's really a brilliant creator. It's possible this is just a bomb effort, an attempt to do something different, and she'll come storming back, but let's face it: Juno was good because of the witty dialogue and Ellen Page.
You can't ride that forever. Well, actually, seems like people have already confirmed that because even with the amazing Megan Fox, Jennifer's Body did poorly. That's a double whammy there for Cody. She couldn't retain Juno fans (likely because many had enough of Juno after watching Juno) and couldn't attract Fox fans (probably because most men don't really give a crap about her acting; they just want to look at her pictures).
The movie was lifeless, dull, and confused. Not confusing. Confused. It didn't know if it should be funny, scary or hip (hint: it was neither). I read the script first and honestly don't know how I got through it. I was really bored at work. It actually took me three tries before I could finally get past the first few pages. I watched the film to see if maybe it presented better and it was worst. I got the chance to see Fox show of her body a bit (because even if I don't find her hot, she has a nice body so what the hell, might as well look at it), and I tried picturing Seyfried without her nerdy get-up.
