That's sort of dangerous losing and gaining so much weight in short period of time. I personally wouldn't go through such an ordeal for any movie

Well his weight currently looks somewhere in the middle of his Batman and Machinist weights but yeah, I agree with you. It's a dangerous game you're playing if you're gaining and losing weight so much in short periods of time. Hopefully Bale is smart about his body and sticks to one weight for some time.

That is the life of an actor. He is probably doing it for a role. They do some crazy stuff to get roles. But he could have a high metabolism too.

The first thing I noticed was his hair. Other than that, he actually looks perfectly healthy and fine in that picture.

I admire his ethic which is one reason I respect his talent and consider him one of the best right now.

But I wonder about him too. Bale seems like the type of guy that would actually use crack for this role just so he can know what it's really like to fight it.

I'm not saying he went that far, but method actors will try a lot for a genuine portrayal.

I think Heath was like that too. I know I read something about how he studied a lot of insane killers just to play the Joker. Crazy **** that actors do sometimes.

I don't think Bale would go that far (granted I don't know him). A lot of actors/actresses will let their weight fluctuate for certain roles so it seems like a stretch to say he'd also take crack for a role. Now Daniel Day Lewis, that's a different story.

Bale is a true professional and a student of the art of film. He will do whatever he deems necessary to convince you of his character.

It probably wasn't too hard to bounce back up to his Batman weight after The Machinist with muscle memory and probably some AAS. Would the machinist even really be noticed if Bale hadn't of went to extremes? It's a good movie but I don't think it would of had such an impact on me if Bale wasn't completely disgusting looking in it.

Interesting. Its just sometimes amazing how actors have to gain and lose weights for certain roles. Why can't some of these roles be changed or altered to accommodate the actors current feature.

But some roles really do require certain features and body types though. Can't have a 140lb Batman character
