You know, I agree with this. I know I was critical of this season prior to tonight, but that finale kind of just wrapped it all up for me and reminded me what's important about the show. Watching the characters reunite during the finale, watching them all gather in the church, it was all so perfect and I honestly felt sad that I wouldn't see any of those characters any more. But I thought they did a hell of a job with it and I enjoyed it more than any other episode of Lost that I've ever watched.

Say what you want about the show, but it's going to be quite a while before we see anything else like it again. As evidenced by the fact that the Internet is basically exploding tonight while people are talking about it. Thanks for an awesome ride, Lost.

Again. On point. It was a strange feeling seeing them all there at the end.

No other ending would've fit than the characters all coming to terms with their lives. And to know that every character you've spent 6 seasons emotionally connected to is now dead does not equal a happy ending to me.

I've said it before - I must've watched a different show than some people, or at the very least I watched the show in a much different way than it seems others did. The questions and concerns some people had, and still have, don't matter to me. The characters did, not the Island. Their decisions mattered, not the scientific method behind what happened. That's how I watched the show and it cemented itself as my favorite TV series of all time with tonight's finale.

Yeah I can agree with that, you def. must have been watching a different show.

The show I watched, even back before things got too crazy, had the smoke monster, dead people showing up, whispers, weird cabins surrounded by ash, which disappeared and contained dead people/ invisible people.

Its great if you dont need answers or if your enjoyment stops at the "characters" however, I invested a lot of time watching a show that under delivered greatly down the stretch. Its not on a sopranos level, but the whole final season leaves a lot to be desired.

Half of season 6 was recapped in a 3 minute conversation between Jack and his dad. They essentially held off telling a lot more about the on island stuff so we could look in on the afterlife of these people? Its not even like they were trying to trick us. I just dont think they had a back story for half the stuff they threw at us.

I stand by the island was the purgatory or the sence they were lost everyone on that island was already dead.

If not explain the light, the cave the protecting things, the smoke monster

And I'm completely fine with that. I invested just as much time into this show as you did, and I came out loving every second of it (minus the first half of season three). All of the supernatural, unexplainable, un-graspable things that happened were there because the character's decisions on how to deal with those things, and the characters reactions to each of those things, are what were important. Not the things themselves.

I would have much rather watched it through my eyes than some of yours, let me tell you that.

No one saw the light as the afterlife passing into it, and everyone couldnt find it as was said. Xept the chosen could, then they put the light out and the island or the lost place started to crumble

So why did he have to put the icon back in

Makes more sense if everyone was dead on that island, its island where "lost" souls go that dont know how to get to the afterlife.

The island happened.

Those that were hoping every reason for everything that happened would be explained will just be disappointed...

Alright. No need getting pissy. Just saying, from POV, I stopped at Season 3.

I watched the last five minutes of this last episode and I "saw what they did".

I'm not getting pissy, I'm genuinely interested in how, as a die hard Lost fan, I was duped?

And if all you were saying in that post was that you stopped watching at season 3, you wouldn't have included: "I know the loyal fans will try hard to convince themselves from otherwise, but uh, they got duped."

There is plenty that made sense, but there was plenty left to interpretation as well...

This was going to be a love it or hate it ending and I bet a lot of people saw that going in.

Somebody is back tracking.

Loved every minute of the finale. I certainly teared up when Vincent laid down next to Jack and he closed his eyes.
