Am I the only one that is excited about the new 3D trend?

As of late there has been talk of a lot of movies & games that will be in 3D. I normally dont go to the movies unless its something that I really want to see, but I want to check out some of the films that are coming to theaters in 3D. I cant imagine what a 3D Imax film would be like! The last 3D film I saw was Freddys Dead the final nightmare 3D...that was ages ago.

Well, for me I think you are IMO. I can't stand watching any of the latest films in 3D. Granted, they have all been animated, so that might be the reason - but I got a headache after watching Coraline and UP in 3D with my kids..... Looked really cool, but overall, I would have rather they just been in HD.
    Truly Blessed -

As long as something is in 3D that's the way I'll see it, because I'm assuming they shot the movie with the intention they wanted to incorporate 3D with it. This can become mind-boggling when you have an eye for shots as a backseat director while watching a movie and scratch your head wondering why they chose some angles if you're watching the 2D rendition, but in 3D it will at least come together.

That's the issue with 3D though... that's pretty much the best way to watch said movie because they made it with that intention. So I'll be watching The Final Destination that way as well.

It's tough at first, but once you watch all of the previews you get used to it.

Not a fan. I still don't know if this is going to be a sustained trend or just a fad.

Well, turns out Saw VII is going to be in 3D.

Again, don't mind the actual 3D aspect, but I believe this to be the selling point for this movie. I have very little intention of seeing it, though I'll reconsider based on how well The Final Destination fairs with it.

Yeah I'm gonna check out The Final Destination also. I hope its good I'm really looking forward to it. I never really feel the need to go to the moives because I have a pretty good setup @ home. The 3D kinda makes me want to see the check out the films before they go to Blu Ray though.

I haven't gotten to try it yet but plan on renting the G-Force game.

However stuff like this: http://kotaku.com/5325925/your-360-n...ars-3d-effects is discouraging. No idea about the TV having 3D but the 360 I have doesn't have HDMI.

I was pleasantly surprised by the improving 3D implementation in movies. I was backed into watching Monsters vs. Aliens (which turned into a fair animated movie) but the 3D was very well done and entertaining to me.

With that in mind, I jumped at the chance to see Up in 3D. I did not find the 3D implementation to be nearly as stunning or effective. . .but it was still fun.

Bolt was great in 3D. I think it works in animation. Not sure how I feel about live action just yet, but I can see it taking over some films... especially adventure flicks.

It's a nice thing to know they can do this better than it was done before, but I think it'll die once everyone starts using it and people care less for the fad.

That's a bit of a broad stamement. I rather like the fact that I'm not limited to moving sideways, up, and down.

I wonder if alot of this is about getting people to return to the theatres.

Like you said, I find a crowded movie theatre a bit of a pain so I just catch most stuff at home unless my wife insists. But if you really wanted to see it in true 3D you got to go to the cineplex.

I love 3D movies. I am hoping to catch the X Games Movie 3D somewhere since I know my theater will have some more main stream showing on their 1 big screen.

I see why some people would hate it because they get sick, but there are some people here who hate 3D because they think they are to cool to be seen in a dark theater wearing the glasses.

I'm not sure yet. I only saw a movie-ette in NYC... actually it was 4D, complete with blowing air and snow (well, soap flakes I think).
