The Collector
Anyone seen this yet? I watched it last night and actually thought it was pretty good, for what it's supposed to be. Sure, some of it is definitely a little too unrealistic, but it's a movie and it entertained me for 90 minutes. I really haven't seen too much of Josh Stewart (Arkin in the film), but I came away from the movie really liking the guy and his character. The movie had lots of gore and cringe-worthy moments, but what differentiated it from most gorefest horror flicks is that it actually had somewhat of a plot.Last edited by crques; 08-02-2009, 10:36 AM.Tags: None -
Re: The Collector
Copied and pasted from the "last movie you saw" thread:
Just got back from watching "The Collector." As expected, a pretty crappy torture-porn thriller, but it was entertaining as hell mostly because of the group I was with.
There's so much over-the-top gore that even a room of bear traps is involved.
I'd suggest it if you just want to shut your brain off and chuckle a bit with some friends, but it is indeed a ****ty movie.
It would probably be pretty awful to watch alone, though.
Also, I agree that Josh Stewart was pretty good with his role. Definitely the most impressive acting job in the movie. -
Re: The Collector
For the most part I enjoyed it. Just like salhus said, it is full of intense moments and that is what I went for. I didn't expect a thought provoking film so I wasn't disappointed. So many people have been complaining about the lack of explanation in regards to the "collector's" back story, but it wasn't a big deal for me.
Interestingly enough I've heard a rumor that they plan on making two sequels so maybe they will explain it then. If this is true, I am definitely looking forward to the next two movies.SimWorld NBA 2K19 Fictional Draft Classes
