Love it...always have been a fan of them since they're a local band.

First impression after hearing the new song is good, but not as strong as some of their previous material.

On a side note, I guess I'm not a true metal guy because the demonic screaming is annoying. I know they've done it before, and it's the thing to do with metal, but they are such a melodically smart band that when they do it, it's out of place.

The song is good, but I don't think its as good as Diary Of Jane was for Phobia. When DOJ came out, I think it sold a lot of people on the band and the new album.

I do however think that I Will Not Bow Down is more like their earlier stuff, which is a good thing. Phobia was a great album, but no album I've ever listened to can touch We Are Not Alone.

Re: Breaking Benjamin - Dear Agony

As the band gears up for the album’s release and a tour, Burnley, a man whose private nature has fueled speculation about his health and the band’s future, is indeed struggling. He’s a recovering alcoholic who’s written and recorded sober for the first time. He says he has chronic fatigue syndrome as well as permanent neurological damage caused by years of heavy drinking.
While “Phobia,” Breaking Benjamin’s third album, addressed Burnley’s fears, “Dear Agony” addressees his reality. It’s a stark, intimate letter from Burnley to his condition, heavy on metaphors of falling and being left behind. It’s the most personal Breaking Benjamin album yet for Burnley, whose brain scan serves as the cover art.

Damn. Breaking Benjamin used to be one of my favorite bands. Until about 2 or 3 years ago. I was living in Pensacola, FL and my g/f was interning at the Civic Center, she scored me some free tickets and I was like Hell Yeah.

Then they ended up canceling the day of and I was so Pissed. I swore to boycott them from then on. But, it doesn't appear that I will be able too cause the single is sick. Oh well, I've given in to things before and this probably won't be the last time either.

Well I think it wouldn't be the end of the world if u ended a boycott because they cancelled cause Ben wasn't feeling up to snuff

Yeah, I know. Its just one of those things. Kinda like if your girlfriend bought you tickets to a "big game" then you broke up the day before and you weren't able to go. You look forward to it for months leading up to it then, it's just taken away. It did suck but, I'm moving past it at this point.

Oh I understand. I would've been mighty p.o.'ed if they cancelled one of the shows I went to. Especially now that I'm dying to see them again cause they haven't been around NE Ohio in a while

A few weeks ago I said the new single "I Will Not Bow" was OK, and not as good as some of their previous stuff. But the more I listen to it, the better it gets! Can't wait to hear the whole album.
