Easy. Playing Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow on Xbox Live with the OS crowd from 2004 to 2005. Those were the glory days. We used to play until well after midnight a few days a week.

Hard to believe it's been five years.

Honorable mention to NHL 94. But back in the day, my buddies and I played an insane amount of Goldeneye.

For me, it was back in the Super Nintendo days, when Final Fantasy III (sixth in the series), Chrono Trigger, Mario RPG, and the Donkey Kong series came out over a couple year span.

I still remember getting my NES on Christmas day like it was yesterday.

I forgot to add 1995-1999 with my SNES, Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, and Playstation. I'd play:

            Mortal Kombat
            Super Mario Kart
            TMNT: Turtles In Time
            Primal Rage
            Road Rash II
            World Series Baseball '97
            NHL '95
            Gran Turismo
            NASCAR '97
            NBA Action '95
            Twisted Metal I, II, III

I remember pulling several all nighters playing Turtles in Time and the Twisted Metal games.

              Mid to late 80's.

The NES, Sega Master System and C-64/128 days. Tons of games, but being a teen I had all the time in the world to play!

Probably 1999-2002/2004-late 2006 for me. Over that course I played the heck out of n64, ps1, xbox and ps2. The one game series I played the most was spryo, I remember playing those games all night with my brother and our best friend back in the day. I stopped playing a whole lot near the end of my freshman year of highschool.

Reason for the break in the years is that's when I moved. Most of my gaming was done with my friends though, I never really played a whole lot by myself besides mvp 05.

It seems like it's been much longer than it has been since playing games a whole lot, sure I still play them a decent amount but not nearly close to those days.

Going with the late 80's, early 90's group as well. Football games were so simple then, but the fun factor was through the roof...

Probably middle school through high school for me. Since college has come around, I haven't played video games as much as I used to.

My days on Socom II. By far one of the best online experiences ever. I really don't get why companies insist on stupid match making instead of a lobby system like Socom had. My clan made it's home in US East #5 along with a couple other clans and we always knew the games would be good.

This was also the time when NCAA and Madden were good.

2004 starting with NFL 2K5. Most of the guys now on my friends list I met through the online leagues that year in NFL, NHL, NBA and College Hoops.

Fun thread! I'd have to say 2005 with MVP baseball and NFL 2K5. 1999 was a close second with the Dreamcast. Oh, and I can't forget the NES days...man, lotta memories.

Middle school, probably. NBA 2k, 2k1 and 2k2, Pokemon, Tony Hawk, Super Smash Brothers, Resident Evil, and Starcraft all were awesome and groundbreaking games. I could still play any of those games today for hours. Can't say the same about the SNES and NES years for me. Most games for those systems really got old to me after a few hours, even the good ones.

Excluding the nostalgia of growing up (literally being 6, 7 or 8) and playing the Legend of Zelda with my dad on the SNES and Road Rash and Comix Zone on Sega...

I'd have to say either the early-to-mid N64 days with Mario64, MarioKart, Mario Part (damn some great Mario games back then), Goldenye, Pokemon Stadium, Wrestlemania 2000.

That would be it as far a complete package, but personally, nothing was better nor have I ever spent more time on a game than MVP 2005. Still the best video game I have ever played.

Unfortunately the whole growing up/college thing sucks time away but I intend on playing Legend of Zelda 3000 and Road Rash 10 with my kids too.

Re: When was your gaming 'Golden Age'?

I think around late 2001 and 2002. It was the days when I wasn't yet too attached to scoping the Internet for all of my gaming needs but I had just learned about video game message boards and sites like IGN, etc.

My late best friend would always come over to my house and we would have two TV's in this little "entertainment room" (more like a guest room) that we have, where there was a 14" TV attached to my little stereo set up, and then a very tiny 4 1/2" color TV that stood on the stereo's receiver. I would really need a picture to explain it, but since the computer was right next to that all, sitting on the chair close to the TV made it no problem. He would bring his Dreamcast over and play one of the 2K sports titles and I just got my PS2 that year so I would play All Star Baseball or Grand Theft Auto III or something. Hell, sometimes we would whip out the SNES and play Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball.

Then I remember that Christmas 2001 we went to Arizona that year to have it with my grandparents and I got NFL 2K2, SSX Tricky, and I think that's actually when I got GTA III as well. Man, NFL 2K2 was just that... the radial menus and such was everything I wanted, especially when it was my first football video game since Madden NFL '98 on PlayStation. But I tell you, that was the days that I was still on dial-up with my Internet and I was fascinated in printing out cheat codes and dominating my seasons in my sports games and such. I had no problems going 162 - 0 or 16 - 0 or whatever sport it was based on. That's not to say that I did, but I had no problem with it either. We would just play for hours on end in the wee hours of the night. Sometimes we would stay up all night and play. That was when I simply had intense fun gaming, not a care in the world about sliders (which hardly existed in console sports gaming) or graphical glitches or what have you. Then again I was only 13 years old, but you see 13 year olds on YouTube or on Halo online that is aware of every such exploit.

I'll never trade those days for anything. Rest in peace, my man. Those glory days were spent together well.
