Although I had an NES and then a SEGA Genesis, the most jaw-dropping and fun I had was with my PS2 and then my XBOX. From GTA 3 to KotOR and the first Splinter Cell, I was in heaven.

2003 was the Golden Year for me, back in college. The Xbox/PS2 era will probably go down as the best in video game history, it was amazing.

World Series Baseball 2K3, the one and only time I played all 162 games in season. I can still remember that Soriano hit 87 homers, Giambi hit 74 I believe. Cursor hitting.

I believe I played 17 seasons in NCAA 04 in my UConn dynasty, got them into the ACC and went on an 80+ game winning streak. This was back when I'd have five dynasty seasons done before September 1st, damn near finishing one season per week.

College Hoops 2K4 came out and was a huge upgrade from 2K3, played the hell out of that game.

Last time I really enjoyed Madden too, had a four-player dynasty that went 4-5 seasons.

Funny that the last time I enjoyed tons of sports games was before I was big into OS, sliders, realism and criticizing every little thing. All I cared about was having fun and beating my roommate/suitemates. Hmm....

Like most other older OSers I had a blast playing all the NES/SNES games back in the day but '03 was the best for me.

So many great games over the years. I don't think I have a golden age, just a less pationate age the last 5 years.

Techmo Bowl, the early Maddens, Civilisation, Pirates, Starflight, Interstate 76, Master of Orion and Kotor are my highlights.
