I thought that was pretty much implied. They are companies that provide a service.

In fact....it's more than implied if you see my OP:

"Which service do you prefer considering what you're paying for and what you're getting in the overall package."

Ah, I saw the poll question which asked "Which has the better service?" I can't in good conscience choose between either one.

Personally use Blockbuster right now. The store is within walking distance so that's not a huge deal for me.

Last time I was with Netflix the insta-watch thing didn't work on my computer (Mac) and the selection was pretty limited. I also didn't like the 10 hours per month limitation on viewing, which I obviously couldn't use either way.

You haven't been on Netflix for a while then, have you?

Netflix. 2 DVDs out at-a-time (Unlimited "Watch Now") Plan.

We bought this for our TV's. http://www.netflix.com/NetflixReadyD...talvideoplayer

            Works great. Love Netflix.

Sports... You can watch netflix on your ps3 but there is a catch... You have to Download Tversity or Playon "Themediamall.com" to your home pc.. Then the home pc will send streams to the ps3 therefore watch on your home Television..

              Back on Topic

I think both companies are great... When I lived in Florida I would pass a blockbuster onthe way home from work. So I would drop the movie off at Blockbuster and get a free movie while waiting for the next to show up in the mail. Also I would get a coupon once or twice a month I believe for a free movie or videogame rental... As of Netflix they are a great service.. While waiting you can stream movies on your home PC... With that said I would give the edge to Netflix.. Simple fact that you can stream alot of Television programs as well... I never watched a episod of Lost... It's in it's 6th season I think. Well last week I was able to watch most of the 1st season on netflix stream!!

Either way tho they are both good.

Looks interesting. Does that work only on netflix stuff? Is it similar to a slingbox where the quality of the stream depends on your internet connection?

Yes it's only for Netflix. It seems to me to be a bit better than Slingbox. The stream has always been very good even if the signal is weak. I liked it so much I bought a second one.

Re: Blockbuster vs. Netflix: Let's settle this

Well, made the jump to Netflix. I gave up my 16.99 for 2 AAT through BB, but same price for 3 AAT via Netflix AND the instant watch on the XBL is nice!

Right now PlayOn is only $20 for the app for a little while longer, so thinking of getting that to prep for streaming to my main TV as well.

This is definitely the right move. See ya later BB....nice job cutting my service in half for the same $$$.

I actually just did the same thing last week. Enjoy it. I think it's the right move.

I recently got a sweet deal on a LG blu ray player ($60 shipped) that is capable of Netflix streaming. So Netflix wins by default in my case.

Just read about that. Blockbuster is struggling. I recently saw a local Blockbuster selling new release hardcover books. Yes, books.

You know things are bad when you resort to selling items that don't even fit your business model of entertainment.

Netflix, since I had an absolutely horrible experience with Blockbuster that has prevented me from going back there in 9+ years.

I go with neither. I always run up to the local Hollywood Video. The BB by me usually is a ghost town and for some reason looks like a Hot Topic instead of a video rental store with all of the posters of Slipknot, Mastadon and Heath Ledger as the Joker in the windows for sale.

What is the over under as to when they resort to renting "flicks" to grow sales numbers...
