It's alright, I was hoping for a little more from Cudi but it's just his first album. We'll see what he does in the future. He is definitely different though and if you go in thinking this is a hip/hop album you'll be sorely disappointed.

Your top 5 songs are ones that can get play from me.

Other than that, I would have to be stoned to like his music. Same with his mixtape. I don't have any moods for the kind of music he makes.

But the tracks you named in your OP are pretty good
I'm with you. I really like those 5 songs, but the rest of the album is pretty bad. His singing in some of the songs is so bad I can't finish them.

And did anyone else feel like they were listening to Disney channel music in "Enter Galactic" and "Up Up and Away"? That stuff sounded like it was written for children's shows.

              This album is great IMO...

"Sky Might Fall" almost made me cry on some real talk ish...

This Album isnt going to be for everyone...Cudi has low key been one of my favorite new artists since i heard Day and Night...

Lets just say i feel him...

Anyways I cant stop listening to this Album and IT cracked my rotation that has been mostly consiting of 90s H-H (illmatic , Reasonable Doubt).. As matter of Fact i freaking bought this Album on ITUNES and i never buy anything...

Basically I Love this album ;/

Wish I could explain why more...

                Because you smoke a lot?

I tried giving this another shot but nope. Only song that gets play is Hyyer.

So yea, after giving this album a chance to see if it would impress me at all, it didn't impress me at all but he does have SOME potential. As for this being a "stoner" album, there's only one dude that can make QUALITY "stoner" music and that's Devin The Dude.

Only songs on there where I actually hit the repeat button more than twice were Mr. Solo Dolo, Sky Might Fall, and Up, Up, and Away. Everything else....yeaaaaaa I'll pass. Lyrics were meh for the most part and beats were a little weak for my liking and if it weren't for those 3 songs, this album might've literally put me to sleep...while driving lol.

Overall, he has some potential to possibly be more than a one hit wonder but as far as this album goes, it disappoints, me at least.

not to get too involved but i think if you grew up in a home with no dad or father figure then you might "get it" a little more.

I would say at least half of the songs he mentions his father not being there. Not sure if I agree with GSWs statement, as the lines are really only mentions and the whole songs aren't really about it, but I can see how it could make a listener connect more with the music.

If you react to that situation with a certain set of emotions, you can connect to it more. People react to the absence of a father figure differently though. Cudi appeals to one particular kind of reaction and mentality.

Like I told you in the PM, Cudi is targeting a very specific audience with his music. He doesn't have a lot of objectively "good" or "bad" elements(well, some might say his rapping is pretty bad), but a lot of what he does is more about landing on that target rather than how it sounds.
