    Talk Radio

I was just kind of wondering what everyone listens to around here. I have a job where I'm sitting at a computer for 8 hours a day and I usually listen to the same programs everyday.

8-10: (cst) Lex and Terry (last two hours of the show). I've been listening to these guys for the better part of 10 years and absolutely love them. http://www.lexandterry.com/main.html

11-1: Colin Cowherd- Yeah, I know most people on here don't care for him too much but, he's alright in my book.

1-3: Over these two hours I usually pick between Scott Van Pelt's, Jim Rome's or Dan Patrick's show. It just depends on what kind of mood I'm in.

I also, mix in a show on Hulu every now and again but, for the most part it's just radio show's for me. Does anyone else have any good show they listen to? I'm not looking for anything too hardcore like Jason Ellis but, I definitely don't care for show's like Rick and Bubba either.

If I'm driving someplace and there isn't a game on I'm normally listening to a local sports talk station. I'll occasionally have Mike & Mike on ESPN2 if I'm up early enough, but that's very rare.

Occasionally, I'll get on Pandora and try to listen to a little music but, that's about it. I'm not really into music like I used to be when I was a teenager. I believe that downloading and burning singles kind of ruined music for me but, I guess I'll save that conversation for another day.

I love listening to 101.5 KGB with Dave, Shelly and Chainsaw in the morning here in San Diego. These guys are instant classics. So hilarious!

7-9 Mully and Hanley (local sports)

9-12 I switch between NPR and Silvy and Waddle (local sports)

Rest of the day is music or NPR, pretty much, and I cant stand listening to national sports talk host...they are absolutely clueless most of the time.

                  Re: Talk Radio

On my way into work I listen to Doug & Wolf on Sports 620 KTAR in Phoenix. If I'm driving at lunch I'll flip between Rome and Cowherd (swap when one goes to commercial, otherwise whoever has a better topic/guest at that time). On the way home I flip between Gambo & Ash on 620 and Bickley & MJ on 910 (the other sports station here).

I skip Dan Patrick in the mornings, I am not a fan of his radio show, he just seems annoying to me, even though he can have good insight. Otherwise I just do the locals, they're interesting enough.

                      Re: Talk Radio

I mainly listen to sports talk so it's The FAN 590 here in Toronto however the morning show has gotten so unbelievably bad (it's been pretty tired for the last year or more) so I mainly listen to the News Talk station AM 640 in the morning. The station is unabashedly right of center which makes it a bit of an oddity in Toronto (though not as odd as one may think. There's a huge contingent against the Mayor right now) Anyways so it's Oakley in the Morning. John Oakley comes off as a bit of a smug bastard but enjoyable to listen to and he does have a good cadre of regular guests. I then sometimes listen to the next show which is the Stafford Show. Mike Stafford is VERY funny the way he skewers everything from local politics to people being idiots.

In the late afternoon of course it's Prime Time Sports with Bob McCown. The guy would be pretty damn popular if he was in the US. His show is pretty good especially when he's teamed up with the Globe and Mail's Stephen Brunt. It's not as good when Jim Kelley or any of the lesser lights are co-hosting. The show sometimes has a very definite sports business slant but it's all very enjoyable. The Bobcat has built up a persona that's a bit curmudgeonly and he can act like a jerk sometimes but overall his show is one of the most informative around. It KILLS the competition of The Bill Watters Show which is all hockey crap.

Late at night it's Coast to Coast AM, still the best show of its type but there's a sizable minority that has grown to hate the main host of the show in George Noory. I have to say Noory has gone into sleepwalking mode the last couple years and has diminished the show's quality quite a bit but it's still the Gold Standard. It's a shame Art still isn't hosting full time

I'll listen to some political talk radio if I'm in the car. I don't care for sports talk radio, though. I watch enough sports to not have to hear some guy like Cowherd tell me what to think about it.

8-9 Mike and Mike mostly, Dan Patrick rarely
9-11 Colin Cowherd (tolerable in short segments)
11-2 Herd/Rome/2 Live Stews (Rome/Stews during basketball season, partially since I don't trust Herd's basketball talk)
2-4:30 Paul Finebaum (radio show primarily in Alabama, in a few bordering states), pretty much talk about SEC Football, mostly Bama-Auburn, callers pretty much make the show but are often hilarious

During late spring/summer months when I'm not interested in hearing about Yanks-Sox-Cubs-A Rod all day (which is just about everyday), I get a little "Power" with Warren Ballentine (9-12) and Sharpton (12-3)............
