2-4:30 Paul Finebaum (radio show primarily in Alabama, in a few bordering states), pretty much talk about SEC Football, mostly Bama-Auburn, callers pretty much make the show but are often hilarious

During late spring/summer months when I'm not interested in hearing about Yanks-Sox-Cubs-A Rod all day (which is just about everyday), I get a little "Power" with Warren Ballentine (9-12) and Sharpton (12-3)............
Yeah, I used to listen to Finebaum all the time. He was especially hilarious during the whole Mike Price debacle.

I've avoided it like the plague since college...while I hate the terrible "hosts" on the music stations, anything is better than crappy homer sports talk and political talk on both sides.

            Re: Talk Radio

I tried listening to music and radio at work, but I haven't been doing it recently. I like Mike and Mike, and I listen to Cowherd to see what he's blathering on about.

I generally get about 10 minutes of Mike and Mike on my commute to work and 20 minutes of Cowherd from work-to-home-to-work when it's lunchtime.

I have my iTunes at work to automatically get the condensed Mike and Mike.

When I head home from work, I generally listen to the last part of Big Dog Sports Talk on SuperSports 101.7 in the NRV. I used to really like it, but I just can't get into it when I hear about 15 minutes. I heard Bill Roth on today pretty much sucking on Bryan Stinespring's balls, and that got me really pissed off.

If you want good, eye-opening social/political commentary .... check out Quinn & Rose. We only get the delayed broadcast in the evening around here, but they have a website that I'm sure lists their affiliates.

I used to listen to XM all the time but now that I'm working part time while in school it's gone down some. I try to catch what I can in the car or at night when I'm free. This is what I usually listen to but I rarely catch all of the show.

                Jim Rome
                Steve Czban (when I can)
                Colin Cowherd
                Opie & Anthony (replays)
Coast To Coast AM (it can be a hoot although since Art Bell is gone it's not as good)

I listen to 700 wlw during the day sometimes
                  Mike McConnel and Willie Cunningham

afternoon I listen to NPR until 8:00 or so

I listen to the BBC if I am up between 1-5am.

Sports talk I don't really listen to anything but 700 wlw. I used to listen to Dan Patrick when he was on ESPN radio.

I would go crazy in the mornings here if I didn't have the KGB podcasts. Radio stations here in CO, especially morning shows, suck extremely hard.

When I first moved to CO, KGB had some crappy online broadcast that never worked so I was stuck in silence for awhile.

The station is unabashedly right of center which makes it a bit of an oddity in Toronto (though not as odd as one may think. There's a huge contingent against the Mayor right now) Anyways so it's Oakley in the Morning. John Oakley comes off as a bit of a smug bastard but enjoyable to listen to and he does have a good cadre of regular guests. I then sometimes listen to the next show which is the Stafford Show. Mike Stafford is VERY funny the way he skewers everything from local politics to people being idiots.

In the late afternoon of course it's Prime Time Sports with Bob McCown. The guy would be pretty damn popular if he was in the US. His show is pretty good especially when he's teamed up with the Globe and Mail's Stephen Brunt. It's not as good when Jim Kelley or any of the lesser lights are co-hosting. The show sometimes has a very definite sports business slant but it's all very enjoyable. The Bobcat has built up a persona that's a bit curmudgeonly and he can act like a jerk sometimes but overall his show is one of the most informative around. It KILLS the competition of The Bill Watters Show which is all hockey crap.

Late at night it's Coast to Coast AM, still the best show of its type but there's a sizable minority that has grown to hate the main host of the show in George Noory. I have to say Noory has gone into sleepwalking mode the last couple years and has diminished the show's quality quite a bit but it's still the Gold Standard. It's a shame Art still isn't hosting full time

I agree. I almost like the dude on the weekends better. No art bell though...

As for the thread question, I usually listen to Howard Stern in the morning and the Bubba the Love Sponge show in the afternoon. Music in between.

You mean Ian Punnett? He's okay but I don't really like his mode of questioning and he usually has some grand story before he actually throws in a question. I like George Knapp best who does some weekends. He actually has a background in UFO investigating and such as he did some landmark reporting on Area 51 and US/UFO type stuff.
