Love this show, just had to throw that in there.

But when is a patient going to die again? I know that sounds bad, but it used to kind of be a norm. I know that Dibala was killed, but we need some sad episodes here.

      Re: House: Season 6 Thread

Through the first five seasons, there were 124 patients, 107 of which survived. That means in five seasons, 17 patients have died.

Averages out to just about 3 a season, so I don't think this season has really been much different. We've had one big story death (Dubala), and I'm sure at least one more patient will die in the future - probably because of something going on in House's life or with the team.

Also of note, most of the deaths come in cases where the diagnosis is made but the disease is incurable, so it's also because the show hasn't had many "serious" or fatal illnesses this season so far.

Well Season 5 didn't have many, either. I guess I'm used to Seasons 3 and 4, which had their share. But yeah, I wouldn't mind how they died... it's just that some people (who don't watch the show enough) tell me that it's the same thing over and over, where there's a patient with a weird disease and it's solved in the end. While I tried to defend it saying that there is also a major progressive story within, they are kind of right. There haven't been as many shocks in the patient department as there used to be, like the one in Season 4 when the man and his dog died because the dog ate the pills the man was supposed to (a very sad episode indeed).

I don't know, I just want to care more for the patients in the episodes somehow. Doesn't mean they have to die, but I'd just like to care more is all.

I get the rest of the post and completely agree with it.

However, the bolded part is "wrong"...you're probably thinknig of season 2, where 6 people died. Only 2 died in 4, and 3 died in 3.

Other than that, though, I completely agree. The episodes that are the best are the ones with great patient performances.

I could be confusing my seasons, you're right. I forgot that Season 3 was so focused on Tritter.

Yeah - the only reason I know was because your earlier comments about the patients dying made me look it up and check it out.

That was so many kinds of win.

Still the best show on TV. It's pretty much the only TV show I actually look forward to anymore. I still watch new episodes of a few others (Family Guy, South Park, Simpsons, etc) from time to time, but House feels like one of the last good TV shows that exist.

Glad I randomly gave it a chance a few years ago when it started. I usually don't try pilots, and then catch up if it got renewed and looked interesting. Usually any show I start watching from the beginning is canceled after 10 episodes.

I thought the same thing. Especially when they were walking down the hall together and 13 was saying everyone likes the same things and then she mentioned chocolates. Pretty sure she was coming onto him there.

                    Yup, saw same thing.

Squashed my bold prediction of 13 and Cuddy gettin together

To be fair, 13 is so damn sexy she seems to be coming onto dudes when she's telling them they have advanced stage single cell lupus. We call that wishful thinking.

If only, but it's never Lupus.

Funny how Taub threw it out there last episode (I think it was Taub, maybe Chase).

I'd watch that. Over and over again.

It'd be the only thing on House that could top the lesbian makeout scene from the beginning of "Lucky Thirteen" in Season 5.

Related note: I had no idea Anne Dudek was on Mad Men. I finished season 1 today and was surprised as hell that she was there.

I know people don't really comment about this show anymore, but I'd like to think people still watch it anyway. I watch every episode still, just I don't want to talk to myself.

Anyway, I only had two things to say about this last episode:

                                - The first scene (maybe the only one, I forget) between House and Cuddy had Hugh Laurie submitting his resume for the Joker if they need him for the next Batman movie. Something about the way he spoke and carried himself in the scene made me say, "Wow, he could do this." I'm not saying they'd ever recast the Joker or that I'd want it, but it was at least worth pointing out.

                                - Thirteen's morals are pretty messed up. She was talking to the patient about trying to win a girl over who is already engaged to his best friend. She pushes it to the edge, almost admits his love for her herself, and even calls him an idiot for not going for it. She's all nice and such while doing it and the writers seemed like they tried to make it sound like she was making sense somehow, but she wasn't at all. She's delusional if she thinks that's okay, especially since his best friend is a good guy.

That is all. Great season so far.
