    QFT.

    I love their sound - retro-R&B/funk.

I enjoyed it alot and thought it made for a better show.
I'm a big fan of KOL and have been since about 2003-2004. I remember when I used to go into bars with Internet Juke Boxes and play them and no one knew them. They have really because popular in the U.S over the past 2-3 years. But, I agree with you completely on how they have progressed. None of their albums are the same. The first was more Southern Rockish and now there's hardly a hint of SR... My personal favorite album is Because of the Times. I can't tell you how many times I've listened to it from front to back..

Anyways, to the OP... You definitely want to try bands like the White Stripes and Raconteurs. Some more bands I like are Jet, The Killers and The Strokes.

I don't really listen to the radio too much. Mainly just Pandora for me...

Re: Where have I been? Music related

Good post! Congrats on the find.

I'm 38 and 80% of my Ipod is mid-80's to mid-90's era music. I am stuck in the 80's. What really blows is my wheelhouse is 80's New Wave/Alternative. That sound is pretty much extinct now. So I pretty much gave up on new music, but just messing around on Itunes I have found some stuff that catches my ear now and then...

The Teenagers, Arcadia Fire, The Killers (well, their first album anyway), and a couple others.

You guys should look into rockabilly and pyschobilly - a lot of good bands in those two genres.

I agree with you on The Killers. There first album was great the rest have been kind of so-so, IMO... Well, Sam's Town was much better than Saw Dust and I've never listened to their fourth album in it's entirety but, I have heard a few singles off of it and liked them. But, I can't speak for the entire album as a whole....

Another one of my favorite bands well, that everyone knows about, is The Foo Fighters. I know that they aren't really the same type of band as other mentioned in this thread. However, their last album was a much different that a lot of their past albums and a must own, IMO...

There are always "vintage" artists. Most of the cats I know play, record and try to sound like older artists.

They are out there from every era. But I am glad you mentioned The Black Keys from Akron. Those dudes are awesome.

Try BRMC, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Dandy Warhols, Thee Shams, Heartless Bastards.
