I think the biggest problem people will have is they aren't just saying "inspired by events", or "based on true stories", or anything like that, they are coming straight out (milla jojovich at the beginning of the movie) and saying its what you are seeing is real and true.

Either way I think I'll enjoy it. I can just see where some peoples feathers are gonna get wrinkled when they realize its not real.

I just saw the trailer for this movie and it has a very interesting concept that I've never seen in an Hollywood movie before. Having and the 'real'(or supposedly real) archive footage along with actors playing out the scene is something that I've never seen before. If it has been done then let me know what movie. But I thought it was a very unique concept.

Movie comes out today. Many people are already clamoring over the fact that they shouldn't lie to us about this footage not being real.

not even a real doctor. All that is made up for the movie. The only thing that happened there was 20 people went missing from 1960 - 2004. So 20 people in 40 years ! FBI investigated because the people there thought it was a serial killer. Only thing they determined was alcohol was the common factor in all the people who went missing. That and the cold weather. Anything you find on that Dr. is a marketing ploy. All made up.

Funny you say that Heelfan. I am from Anchorage, and the first thing I said was when I heard about this was bunch people getting drunk and getting lost in the woods, getting stuck in the snow then ate by bears.

I actually know a person who lived next to one of the people that went missing and she said the samething as I did. Haha, there's nothing in Nome, anyone can get missing their.

With that said, I'm going to watch it anyway since I pretty much watch everything that Alaska is involved in.

The one thing I absolutely hated about this movie was the style in which it is shot - using a comic book-paneling style at times and often split-screen to show the so-called 'real' footage against the actor's portrayal of it. That takes you out of it - about as annoying as somebody waking you up every hour of the night. And it doesn't take long before you realize the 'real' footage is b.s.

It's one of those movies that ends up out-smarting itself and makes you feel like you should've just waited for the DVD. They hyped it well with excellent marketing because it's not worth the admission price.

I like the actress who played the 'real' Abigail Tyler. I thought she was outstanding and gave the movie the unsettling edge it lacked elsewhere. The director should have just stayed behind the camera as he couldn't even play a decent interviewer.

If weren't for Mila I think this flick would've premiered on the Sci-Fi channel for free.
