I'm surprised AT&T hasn't come out with an ad saying how Verizon locks their phones down and basically anything none Verizon, you can't put on it.

AT&T just needs to continue doing what they've been doing with the iphone. No need to even acknowledge Verizon, as the iphone is still the most popular phone in the market. The droid is a nice phone itself and for folks on verizon, but it'll still need to come a long way to put a dent in what the iphone is doing.

AT&T suing Verizon is pretty stupid however, as the ads specifically state that the maps are 3g coverage. AT&T is saying that people in general are too stupid to know what that even means, all while they use the same kind of marketing to hype their "fastest evar 3g network".

I love my droid however, I don't know if I'd switch to an iPhone even if one came to Verizon.

I'd recommend to anyone, at least go to the store to check a droid out if you are at all interested. It is beastly.

As an iPhone owner I can honestly say that AT&T has bad coverage. I always get drop calls everyday. It's a great phone on a crappy network. Also, the more bars in more places is BS. I don't believe this bars at all.

My sister just switched off of AT&T to VZW and thank goodness, about 50% of our calls were constantly dropped. AT&T's coverage in everywhere but the large markets is truly abysmal.

LOL WOW!

AT&T did not file this lawsuit because Verizon's "There's A Map For That" advertisements are untrue; AT&T sued because Verizon's ads are true and the truth hurts.

In the final analysis, AT&T seeks emergency relief because Verizon's side-by-side, apples-to-apples comparison of its own 3G coverage with AT&T's confirms what the marketplace has been saying for months: AT&T failed to invest adequately in the necessary infrastructure to expand its 3G coverage to support its growth in smartphone business, and the usefulness of its service to smartphone users has suffered accordingly. AT&T may not like the message that the ads send, but this Court should reject its efforts to silence the messenger.

EDIT: Is it true you can't use data and voice at the same time? Look up something while on the phone?

FIOS hardly sucks, I don't know where you're getting that from. I had it for 2 years when I lived in Virginia and it was by far the best TV I ever had and also by far the fastest internet I've ever had. I wish I could get it in here in Ohio but it's not here and never will be.

Oh and just to clarify, Verizon (who has FIOS) and Verizon Wireless are not the same company.

Verizon is all one big company.

I have freinds that had Fios and got rid of it to come back to Cablevison/Optimum. Now that I read there trying to raise there disconnect fee with Fios to $350 is a total joke. Good Luck trying to get out of that.

Can you be on a phone call and use data at the same time? Can I talk to someone on the phone and lookup some information by pulling data and not have to disconnect the phone call?

Footballforever - No verizon is not one big company. It's two separate companies. Trust me, I work here at VZW and they are separate. Verizon for example is unionized and VZW is not. They are basically two separate companies that are entangled/in-bed together for the advancement of both but they are most certainly not one big company.

Now maybe FIOS has gone downhill, I don't know but as Pared said it really has nothing to do with VZW and it certainly has nothing to do with their competition with AT&T.

Pared - I just had a guy here who has the Droid try it and it did not work. it says INTERNET CONNECTION NOT FOUND when he's on a call
