    Re: Official Android Discussion Thread

I'm with TMobile and I'm upgrading next month to the HTC One or the S4. I'm just using this time to research as much as I can. Can't go wrong with either phone from what I've learned so far.

Has anyone had any experience with the Blackberry Z10? I would love to hear about some hands on impressions.

So close to an upgrade I can't wait, I'm eligible May 6 on Verizon so it looks like I'm going with the S4 since the HTC One may not be coming for a couple months if at all. Reading all the reviews has gotten frustrating since each one seems to contradict the next. One guy hates how the S4 feels and loves the One, next one is the opposite, same with camera, touch wiz vs. sense or whatever the bloatware is and pretty much anything else you can think of.

I'm kind of glad I might not have a choice since the S4 seems like a great phone and the One still won't be close to releasing on Verizon at the end of the month when the S4 is finally out. I just need to get rid of this damn Droid Bionic which has turned into a piece of junk with horrendous battery life that barely runs after the last update. My phone crashes consistently now, WTF never again Motorola, although the thing is a tank that I've dropped about 100 times and is still in one piece.

This is my main concern. I really don't care much about all the nitpicking, techie psycho-babble that you get with these side by side comparisons. I want something nice, but durable. That is why I'm leaning towards the HTC-One due to it's construction.

I'm taking this S3 and Verizon back. I am now convinced that its something in my house blocking cell signals either way I'm going to a carrier with the htc one. I love how it looks and how zippy it is. This S3 is annoying with the lack of developer support on Verizon. I guess the international version spoiled me with all the Roma they had.

I'm also thinking about saying forget Android and just go back to simplicity with the iPhone. I feel like I'm forever constantly looking for a skin that I can live with on Android, but android is so beneficial.

Htc builds solid phones. Samsung is known for plasticy weak builds, up till the S3. It's solid. I still go htc for ruggedness, if that's even possible for smart phones these days.

I feel like the Samsung materials are meant to be light and durable, but the knock is they feel like cheap **** in the hand. And it's true. I feel like most claims have them being fairly sturdy material. The HTC One is a really solid, sleek device. I feel like a device should have some heft, some good weight to it. Phone's be getting almost awkward to handle these days lol

Got the HTC One. Love what i'm seeing so far. Sense 5.0 is light years ahead of Touch Wiz when it comes to fluidness. They both need to figure out something to do with the app drawer theming by default.

Phone is fast, fluid and physically feels how the iPhone 5 should have felt. . The curved back is a nice touch, reminds me of the iPhone 3G(S) but with way better build quality.

The Beats Audio is a nice touch. I don't know if it's the Software or the headphones that came with the phone, but they sound awesome to me for stock headphones. I've had 3 phones this week and the iPhone 5's new ear buds and these blow them all out the water.

I have crystal clear conversations everywhere I have been so far and that's the best part. HTC did a hell of a job with this phone. I just knew i'd be switching back to Verizon for the S4 because I had a little doubt in HTC.

I'm still gonna go with the S4. I was told it should be out May 30th or before for Verizon.

The specs and the look have me.

How do the mids sound? On my old phone I was able to somehow load Beats Audio on it(through recovery mode or something like that) but the mids sounded cloudy and the bass was too powerful. If they've perfected Beats Audio that might sway me towards an HTC in a year when my upgrade comes around

Dude, they sound awesome. These are like Tour Headphones without the B logo probablythe little sister version. That's a good thing to me though because all the Beats I have come across have been loud as hell and annoying. These are a bit washed out but it's really song dependent. I still haven't gotten around to testing my incase sonic on it, but I think it's a good mix of the software and the headphones working together. I'm happy man. You have to at least try it.

HTC got it with this one. I'm telling you, it's beautifully fluid and even the "bloatware" is extremely useful. It cuts out Twitter/Flipboard, etc being a middle man. You can have news from all the sites right there on your homepage and best yet you can set it all up easily on the web.

They also give a list of some popular daily used apps to load on without going into the Play store. Foursquare, Engadget, Verge, etc can be added with just a click on the web on your computer.

And they're responsive, I gave them props on Twitter and they responded in minutes. Also, of the the 32 GB advertised 25.49 GB are usuable. No SD card slot, plenty of space for me. No need for an iPod touch.

Camera is lacking in low light. Flash or no flash.

BUT.. THE battery life on this baby will make you say who cares about that? This thing is rocking out. It has this power save mode that i'm not sure what it does but I've been up and out since 8 am and it's 12 am the next day I still have a little over 50% charge. My GS3 would have died around 4 and needed a re charge.

I am thinking about making the switch from a 2.5 year old iPhone 4 to an Android.

One question I have is about group messaging. My friends and I all have iPhones and rely a lot on group text messages. Is there a way to enable this on an Android? We have one lone friend who has an Android (albeit she has no idea how to work technology) and whenever we include her in group text she gets all confused because she receives them as individual text from each of us.

Hadn't heard about the HTC one so I didn't even bother looking at that.

Went to Bestbuy to get a phone, and decided to skip the S3 since it was about to get one upped by the S4 real soon. I was going to just get an iphone and use it for awhile then sell it since it holds its value.

Honestly everytime I look at iphones I feel like im not missing very much. Besides being able to do the exact same things with my ipod, there just wasn't very much pull on me for it but it was cheaper than what I got and wouldn't be a bad alternative.

I decided to go with the Note 2 instead and this thing is future proof and a beast. Love to draw and doodle so that feature comes in handy for me, and since I recently got a wacom tablet, trying to get used to it, I didnt know that that same technology is in this phone. Love the feature where you dont have to touch the screen to do certain things, especially with the stylus.

If I ever get tired of it, I can always sell, but im not finding anything right now that's pulling me from it at the moment.
