    Re: Official Android Discussion Thread

So I'm strongly considering buying the S7 Active tomorrow. I have broken about 3 phones on my job and I need something durable. Unfortunately for myself, I will have to pay for the phone outright as my company (which pays for our plan) has not come to terms with AT&T so we can't upgrade yet.

My understanding is that the S7A is essentially a more durable S7 with better battery life.

Can't wait for it as I'll be doing the same thing. Got this Note 4 when it was released and ready for a new phone now so was thinking of waiting till the next Note comes out.

I'm fine with the Note 5 but not being able to put extra memory was a big minus. I just finalized my corporation so setting up a new corporate account with note 7's is gonna be sweet.

I did not put one on my S6 Active. I dropped it countless times. No scratches or anything (going on 10 months with it).

I am of the belief, those screen films look like **** within mere weeks (everyone one I ever seen). And what is the point of having a nice screen than gets obstructed, only to never fully enjoy it's clarity? Then you upgrade the phone, to repeat the process, and have an old phone with what you seemingly thought was a perfect screen after, only to never have enjoyed it fully (visually).

I never had one on my iPhone 4s prior either. Never had scratches really, but it shattered after 3 years of having it, something the protector would not have prevented. Just took advantage of insurance and got a replacement.

I would do the same with my S6 if it broke, but this thing is practically bulletproof, lol. It does seem like a good quality screen glass as far as durability.

Correct. Same phone, just built in durable slim styled case, and very durable (waterproof as well).

I have an S6 active I got last year, and it is amazing. I dropped it often, and what would have shattered a regular S6 or an iPhone, not a single issue or scratch. It also has that coating (you can't see it), where water just beads up and rolls off it dry. Instead of smearing like other phones.

Any big difference between the Galaxy 7 and the Galaxy 7 Edge besides screen size?

I'm the opposite. Even with advanced glasses I'm always going to splurge on a high quality screen protector. Since the iPhone 4 I've used Zagg. I've become increasingly clumsy and have had drops where the screen should have 100% shattered into 1000 pieces. The "Zagg Glass" for my S5 looked brand new for 18 months until my right hand slapped the phone out of my left hand and the phone hit screen down on the edge of my tub at 100 MPH -_- The glass part of the protector cracked, but the screen was fine. Have looked at my phone and my SO's S5 side by side and you can't tell by look or feel that there is anything on mine.

Meanwhile my brother buys a new $5 protector once a month because they cheap ones are pretty bad.

Anyone going to grab the Note 7? I thought about it, just because I like new things, but I think I an contempt with my Nexus 6P.

I plan on getting if not at release soon after. I'm ready for an upgrade as I still have the Note 4

Don't have one but watched lots of youtube reviews. Differences....price, screen size, battery size and obviously the edge.

                      The internals/specs are the same

Recently jumped back to Android (galaxy S7 Edge) from Iphone 6S Plus. Really happy about my decision and man is this gorilla glass 4 sweet.

Have my Note 7 and so far I love it, the iris scanner is pretty cool and a really quick way of unlocking the phone. Sometimes it doesn't work on the first scan but on the second it usually goes right to unlocking. Sold my Note 4 to a friend for 100$ battery was going bad but I thought it was a good deal.

Have the same case Spigen on the Note 7 that I had on the Note 4 and you can tell how much lighter the phone is. Only problem for me right now is when I set a Wallpaper for the Lock screen the image looks good while it's showing a preview, but when I select it turn the phone off and look at the image it is much bigger than it's supposed to be, I can set the same image as a regular Wall Paper and it works fine. Anybody else have the note 7 and have this problem?
