Either replacement or fix. If I get SwiftKey, do I still have to have Google keyboard taking up space?

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
Ordered a like new S7 edge for $360 shipped. Hoping it arrives in that condition. I like everything I see about the S8+ but couldn't justify the price.Comment

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
I downloaded it and suggestions are obviously much better, but keyboard just has alot going on. I liked google keyboard design better(mainly how it had a square around each key) . This will take getting used to. Especially when typing words like sports related names or acronyms and it doesn't pick it up right away. On google keyboard if the suggestion was wrong, you could backspace and it'd go back to the original word you typed but here, doesn't seem to do that unless I'm missing something.Comment

It's been a while since I used SwiftKey but I know there's themes where you can select keyboards with squares around the keys. The settings are also super robust so I'd go through them to see if your backspace preference is available.
I used it for quite a while a few years ago and it got to the point that I didn't have to type at all sometimes because it knew the words I wanted to say and I just had to select them. It learns very well and thoroughly. Stick with it for a month.
With that said, I use Gboard on my Android and my iPhone and have for a long time now.

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
Are any of you S8 owners using a screen protector or case on your phone? If so, which one?
Also, bummed to see that Samsung removed the colored notifications on the people edge in Android N. Hoping it gets fixed/added soon.Comment

Spigen is solid...I've used their cases for my last 5 or 6 phones and multiple cases for each depending on whether I'm going to work or just out and about.

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
Anyone thinking about getting the Pixel 2? For sure thought I would sit out this year from a new phone and just keep my Pixel XL but as we get closer to the announcement and the leaks, i am changing my mind. I'm sure I'll cave. Especially if I can sell my Pixel XL. A friend said he would buy it for $350 but who knows if he will once it's time.

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
I just contacted Google about my battery shutdown issue on my 64 GB Nexus 6p. It would get to around 15% and then just shut off. I had Nexus protect, and was looking to get a new phone soon(ish), but Google replaced my Nexus with a brand new 128 GB Pixel XL. Just got it all set up last night and it's soooo nice. Looking forward to using it and not looking for a new phone any longer!XBox Gamertag: djbeth77

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
Thinking about trying the pixel 2. Been on iPhone for at least 6-7 years and want to try pure android. I currently have the iPhone 7 Plus and like it, but feel a little bored with it and want to try something different. My biggest concern is missing iMessage. I hope Google can hurry up and bring RCS messages already.

So, far the XL is working like a champ! I just connected it to my 6p, transferred everything I needed to over, and we're off and running. Google was really good and easy to work with regarding this. Best of luck to you!
