Also, a great app for setting wallpaper is Wallpaper Set & Save. It allows you to use jpegs as well as png, which at least on my G1, you can't do.

Re: Official DROID Discussion Thread
How is the screen responsiveness to touch compared to the iphone? All the other touchscreen phones I've seen far aren't nearly as snappy.

Nerdy app, try Metal Detector.
For a very good flashlight app, yes FLASHLIGHT, get MotoTorch LED (there is no difference between the paid app and the free)
Movies Get movie times in your area, buy tickets, whatever. You can get reviews and watch trailers as well. Sick app.
Pandora for music.
Qik Stream video from your Droid.
Sportstap No doubt the best sports scores, info app.
Talk to me Speak into the mic, it translates into another language (spanish, french, german and italian.)Comment

Re: Official DROID Discussion Thread
Metal Detector is pretty amusing. I haven't heard of Talk to Me so I definitely have to get that.
PDAnet is a nice one. its a program that lets you tether your droid to your laptop for wifi connection.
If you guys want a new experience, I'd try a Home Replacement screen such as Panda Home, GDE, or Open Home.
What it does, is basically replaced your home screen, and gives you options for docks, icons, and other widgets.
I'm currently using Panda Home, as its free and I've had the least amount of problems with it. It looks great. I have 4 docks that I set up. Contacts, Entertainment App, Tools App, and Navigation. The one minor negative is that sometimes it force closes on me and it lags every now and then, but nothing too bad.Last edited by shugknight; 11-25-2009, 05:27 PM.Comment

Re: Official DROID Discussion Thread
Also Guys, if you want something really nice to look at when you look at your phone, try out Beautiful Widgets. It's a great Time/Weather Widget app that has a great interface to look at, as well as animated weather themes when you look at the 3 day weather.
I was skeptical and didn't want to try it since it was $1.50 at the marketplace, but I figured since theres a 24 hour trial, it wouldn't hurt to try. Well I tried it, and immediately I uninstalled WeatherBug as well as PandaHome because this thing looks sweet. I can wait to show my iPhone family tonight the weather animations cause I know they'll think it's cool.Comment

Re: Official DROID Discussion Thread
I will ask my brother and cousins their opinion. My bro and cousins all have iPhones, and tonight I'll ask them what they think. I think it's similar, although I've only played with the iPhone for a few hours. The one thing though is that they only have the 3G, and not the 3GS.

My mom left me a voicemail saying she wants to give me her droid because she doesn't know how to work it.
I played with it today and it is awesome!
I can't take it though I'll teach her how to use it...she does enough for me.Comment

Re: Official DROID Discussion Thread
Wow my mom isnt into technology at all. She never had a cell phone, a pager nor does she ever use the internet. Hell she refuses to even call a cell phone LOL. She would always say if your not at home then I dont want to bother you while you are out, that is just stupid. LOLComment

Re: Official DROID Discussion Thread
She has the money, is bored, and wanted to upgrade her phone. I've tried to teach her about technology and she's much better, but I think the phone is a bit overwhelming.
Hopefully she can figure it out.Comment
